Hi,
Hope someone can clear this up for me.
I use a chemical sunscreen which from what I've researched online needs to bind to your skin for 30 mins....should I be applying vit c serum before or after same goes for any serum. either way sunscreen first or after does the first product you use not interfere with the penetration of the other? |

Sunscreen last.
The basic order doesn't change.
(1) Cleanse, (2) treat, (3) sun protection.
But you can have variations depending on your hydration needs. I'll add a mist plus moisturizer between 2 and 3 in dry climates. I started a thread and jazzi seems to like to mist/cotton mask plus moisturizer between 1 and 2, and has valid reasons for that.
Anyway, just get the basic order right to start with. |

Generally I apply products in order of thickness (liquids, serums, lotions...) with sunscreen always last. |

I do the skincare based on the thickness too.
cleanse-tone-serum-moisturizer-sunscreen in the morning. Some people will skip toner. What you think? |

Generally I cleanse, tone, serum, sunscreen, but after watching a derm tv episode which said all sunscreen should be put on first https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_9kvfkYB4I
I personally use a chemical sunscreen so it might be more relevant to me. |

Chemical sunscreens need to be put on first, physical sunscreens put on last. |

Its so confusing different opinions on things it makes sense that chemical sunscreen needs to bind to the skin so using anything before may hinder that....then again anything used after may not be as beneficial...just reeived my vit c as that has sun protection properties assuming thats okay to use first? |

Tone first so skin is ph balanced then apply vitamin C serum. If using a chemical sunscreen, apply after the vitamin c has been fully absorbed because the chemicals in the sunscreen need to absorbed into the skin to soak up the UV rays.
If using a physical sunscreen then apply as the last step after all skincare as the physical sunscreen creates a reflective barrier against UV rays. |

I like this regimen. Toner may not be for everyone, but I use it. I also do a mud mask one per week after cleansing. |
