My skincare "style" is practical and science based.
I use RetinA/Refisssa, Skin Biology Lactic Power 10 and Obagi Hydrate. Once in a while I will use CeraVe PM. For cleanser I use Boots Sensitive Cleansing Lotion and Dove Sensitive Soap. I bought a C serum after years of not using them and ended up going with the Cosmtic Skin Solutions CE Ferulic instead of Skinceuticals.
I have a hard time justifying spending alot on skincare especially for products not backed by scientific evidence.
However.....I just bought some Eve Lom Cleansing Balm. Is this practical? No. Do I need this? No. Is this something I always have at my house? No. Does it do anything my Boots cleanser does not do? No.
Yet, once in a while I will buy it. Why? Simply because I like it and enjoy using it. Could I find something cheaper? Probably. But then it wouldn't be a splurge and probably would not be as satisfying to use.....if that makes any sense.
I think most of us can be impractical from time to time and would be interested to know what everyone else splurges on.
So tell me, what are your splurges? |

Sunblocks. I've spent a lot of $$$ on them. And Vit C serums since I hate DIY-ing. |

My sunscreens can get pricy, but that's because I'm sensitive to a lot of the most common ones so I have to order from far away places.
I also bought a tube of La-Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. It's basically glamorized BP, but any acne that pops up will be gone within a day or two when I use it. So I feel it's somewhat justified.
Everything else though is less expensive, like my CeraVe Cleanser and Hada Labo Milk. |

I have sagging, ageing skin because I did not take proper skincare when I was younger. And now, I just have to look for any products that can work for delaying ageing without going to
invasive treatment. My splurge goes to Neocutis, iS Clinical, Revaleskin...etc. Sometimes, we don't really have to break our bank to buy some thing that can bring results. Thus, I do also get information from postings here to know a lot that I don't know before. Thanks everyone here for sharing. |

If something works for my skin, what ever it is, I will splurge on it. I've spent tons of money trying to cheaper alternatives, its not worth it. |

I'm a sucker for a skincare device and have spent hundreds of pounds on them even though I don't have much money. I feel like I am saving myself money by not having spa or skin clinic treatments but if I had enough cash I would probably get things done by a derm and save myself the hassle. |

I love Eve Lom's cleanser. Definitely a splurge but I'm with you on that purchase.
Other splurges I like are totally unnecessary moisturisers (other than my HG: NIA 24) such as Murad's Age Reform Night cream, Creme de la Mer, and/or Liz Earle Superskin. They get stashed in my ever growing basket of skin care products and it's nice to experiment and change it up |
