From being on this forum I have learnt about the 3 basic good things in the fight against aging Sunscreen, retin a and C serum although I'm aware of the other great things I'm trying dermarolling too.........these are topical agents I haven't yet thought about going further though am getting more and more tempted by botox, which I know will instantly reduce those pesky lines.

I just wonder whether celebs use these basics or because they have more funds they might rely on more instant effective and ivasive treatments, when I see supermodels past and present kate moss, cindy crawford, elle mcpherson photographed on beaches enjoying the sun can they really be doing that whilst using something like retin a I feel like to enjoy the benefits I'm destined to a life in the shadows.

Its hard to say I would imagine they use a combination of both long term treatment and quick fixes like botox and laser. Gwyneth Paltrow as talked about using Avibon (a kind of french pharmacy retinol) as well as thermage and she seems to love the sun. I would say though she looks great due to her face being still very tight the tone and texture of her skin is not great and looks pretty sun damaged to me, the same with Kate Moss. Cindy Crawford looks over done to me and Elle MacPherson what ever she is doing seems to be working!

Botox etc will not save you from sun damage. I really think though we need to move away from having line free skin to having healthy skin, lines are beautiful on a healthy skin and both retin a and sun protection are a part of that but the sun is good for you too so if you enjoy that is it not possible to cut back on retin a when you go on holiday, it doesn't need to be used every night to maintain benefits?

I don't know about botox and things like fillers, I think I am still to young (I'm in my late 30's). It seems to be difficult to get right and expensive to maintain and long term side effects are still a worry. I am coming round to the idea of working with the skin and body more holistically, to optimise its own rejuvinating processes rather than beating it into submission. I think dermrolling is more promising long term than botox or filler.
