Hi, I need some help because I am just baffled. Recently I've been getting blood spots easily on my face. Mostly the upper part of my face, especially the forehead and eye area. I have to be careful even while blow drying my hair! The only thing I can think of is that I'm older and my skin is thinning more. I recently bought Emu Oil in hopes of helping but so far, eh. We also have dry heat in the house, which I'm not sure if that's doing any harm.

Supplement wise, I don't think I am taking anything to thin my blood. I take a daily multi-vitamin (RainbowLight 50+ Mini-Tab™ Age-Defense Formula), Biocorrex, VitaFusion Calcium, and a few other various supplements like MitoQ but none of which I think is the cause. I have been taking Vitamin K1/Vitamin K2, maybe that's it?

Are there any supplements that can help thicken skin and/or help my blood?

Thanks in advance!
Jennifer

I solved it! Just read online from others that it's the one brand of Vitamin K I have been taking. One poster warned of taking too much which had this effect. I'll stop taking this brand right away and get my K from another source.

WhiteWolf,
I am so happy you found out what is causing this problem

Will you share what brand it is?

Yes, it's Life Extension Super K with Advanced K2 Complex Softgels. A reviewer said they had the same thing happen, blood vessels popping, etc.

I've done some more online reading into Vitamin K2 and the different versions. There is a MK-7 one by ProNordic which is non-soy which I will try. I did not know that a lot of Vitamin K2 is from soy.

I think most kinds of Vitamin K, also maybe Niacin does this.

Other things that thin the blood are Ginger, garlic, ginko,Aspirin, white willow bark, maybe red wine/alcohol if you consume it a lot.

Most of the things that reduce inflamation in medications also can thin your blood. I spoke to a rheumatologist and quite a few doctors.
Also have done a lot of reading for myself as I have a problem with too thin blood and they still have not figured out what it is from...

I went through everything in my cabinet and googled it all. The only thing I came across was that Vitamin K2. Now, if I still have the same problem going forward...I'm back to square one. Maybe just some of us have too thin blood due to genetics or something with no other explanation. My Mother has purpura all over her legs and yet her doctors can't find anything else wrong with her. It's just so weird. I have varicose veins but so far, no Purpura.
