Just wondering if it's normal to have a fuller side of the face than the other? It's disturbing to me as I like my "fuller" side and the other one looks way more skeletal/lacking volume. Anything I can do?
I am currently doing ageless facial exercises by LouLou |

I can't see your photos but Sculptra can help. That is one of my issues. Sculptra is helping. |

I mean, you have to copy the links that I put between IMG. and paste them into a new tab so that you can see the pics. |

You don't look skeletal at all & I don't see a lot of difference in the sides of your face. I do see a thin face though & some hollowing. You look quite young. How old are you? Make sure your calcium intake is adequate & look after your teeth properly. I think my thinning face is due to lack of calcium & not looking after my teeth through my thirties. You will naturally loose fat from your face as you age but hopefully not a lot of bone. My face was far more hollow than yours & Sculptra has helped some what. I'm happy with my results (looks so natural) but it's expensive. I'm thinking you don't look like you need Sculptra but maybe learn to live with the fact that you have a thin face & just look after yourself. I think we all look for faults with ourselves. No-one's face is perfect. Great makeup techniques can help us all. I don't think anyone's face is perfectly symmetrical. If it really continues to bother you, Sculptra would be the way to make it more symmetrical. |

Thanks cindi Lou.
Glad to hear it's not as bad as I see it to myself. My face is thin and has been thin since I got sick in Mexico when I was like 24 and it never came back. Now that I"m trying to lose my love handles, it seems like even a half pound that I lose, goes from my face. And not from the love handles. And of course if I gain it back, it doesn't go back to the love handles. I'm 35, so the hollowing you're noticing, does it look about right for my age, or is it too much?? I have lots of fillings and I"m trying to drink more milk lately, but that's about all I can do. I don't really want to do injections but I hope it doesn't get too bad, the hollowing. thanks for taking a look. .. . when you started doing more calcium, did your bones/teeth get any better/help your face at all?? Good suggestions and thanks. |

To answer your last question first, once you've lost bone, it doesn't come back, no matter what you do, sadly. Make sure you always get the calcium minimum requirement daily & get your teeth cleaned regularly by a hygienist, floss thoroughly every day etc. By your photos, I notice the hollowing of the temple area on one side the most. You can disguise that easily with a suitable hairstyle. Concentrate on looking after yourself well, eating collagen promoting foods, enough protein & calcium & wearing a good sunscreen everyday.
By the way, you definitely look younger than 35,to me. I was surprised to read 35! |

thanks cindy
You are very sweet and I appreciate the compliment. but I just ask as far as if the hollowing looks "Normal" for my age, or is there any reason for me to go to the doc?? If it's normal hollowing for my age, then I won't worry, just try to hide it. Thanks! |

35 is about the age that my face started to hollow. Hopefully your face exercises can help too. That's something I haven't looked into much. |

I do not think fillings would change your face shape.
But if you have bonded teeth, ceramic on them- that changes the face shape.
Also having braces or invisalign changes the face shape too.
I have to wear the top of my invisalign a couple night a week, the wire and ceramic would not stick to my teeth-the dentist tried at least 10 times at my insistence.
I do not have much enamel on the back of my teeth.
If you get dental implants, it changes the face shape too- my mom has those, but due to teeth problems.
But that is around $5,000 US per tooth or something and major surgery almost. |

Another thing that impacts the face sides, is sleeping with your face squashed into a pillow. Most surgeons say they can tell which of their patients are side sleepers and which side they sleep on by looking at the structure of their faces. |

Just to add further, with bone loss hormones are the real players there. If your hormones are messed up it messes everything up.
With bone, I like FlexEffects bone remodeling techniques and whilst I can't provide proof that's visible in photos that its doing anything, I can feel the bone is getting stronger.

Thanks for all tips. I was so close to needing a dental implant last week, as I broke a tooth. God was with me. As for bone stuff, the FlexEffect, I was looking at her bone remodeling stuff, is it similar to LouLou's massage techniques or is it better?? I was hoping she sold "just that" |

I have not heard Lou discussing bone but the FlexEffect stuff is brilliant. There is also a skin remodelling technique too. It is very different from Ageless but it is good and easy which I like. I don't think she sells just the bone stuff but I do think her system is one of the best out there.

do you do both her workout and LouLou's? ANd supposedly the bone and skin remodelling help rejuvenate new bone/new healthy skin? |

It's normal for one side of the face to be slightly more hollow or flatter than the other, everyone has asymmetry. I found that getting tear trough fillers made a big difference in the look of my face. They are extremely natural, no one would be able to tell you had anything done. They just make you look more well rested. |

I don't follow any one specific program, although do some ageless and flexeffect. For me, when I started out I did some programs in their full entirety but I've got to learn my face and how it responds to different exercises and some programs didn't cut it enough for me, but I spent years learning that - and you are talking at least 10-15 years.

We're all assymetrical to some extent, but building a bit more muscle on the thinner side might help. I do Flexeffect and Ageless if you Dare. When I noticed that my right side was a bit thinner a few months ago, I started making that side do an extra few 'lifts' (ie resistance training using the hands) each session, and it seems to have evened out.
You look good (I always envied the 'cheekbony' look), but can easily look too thin, so consider whether your current facial training really builds your buccinator and Zygomaticus muscles to make up for the lost fat. |

Thanks, but I know on the instructions with Ageless, it says to avoid the Crush, if you don't want the bony look, and the crush is the one that works the buccinator. Should I do that one?? And do you think ageless is enough to help with my situation? I don't have much time to dedicate to long programs |

Flexeffect is certainly more thorough. It gets you to work the buccinator in a very logical way - with a finger inside the cheek to pull in against. Yes, at first you might look a bit more cheekbony, but then the buccinator will build and 'fatten up', giving you a fuller cheek. |

Have you tried Micro current? I think this will help even out both sides. It helps to tone the muscles and increase collagen. I like Neurotris treatments. You can find them online. The professional treatment might be best so that the tech doing the treatment can balance you out. But they do have a home unit that is great as well in case you don't find a place doing the treatments near you. Good luck! |
