I had a collagen facial today and the esthetician offered Meriance Collagen Gel to purchase after ($120). I'm waiting a week to see what the results are like and if I want to spend the money. I've tried researching info on collagen applied to the skin and one source said it's a come-on, that collagen can't penetrate deep enough to actually do anything. Does anyone know if this is true?
TIA

There are various different types of collagen, but collagen in its untreated form is too large to penetrate the skin, but there are various forms out there where the molecule has been shrunk and treated in such a way that it does enable the molecules to penetrate the skin. $120 is a bit expensive though. I have used SBC Collagen with a device and had a lot of good results with that. There is also people out there recommending consuming collagen but there doesn’t appear to be any science backing that up which I find a little strange. Usually there would be some studies saying it is or isn’t true but there are neither. Yet many claim they see a big difference in taking collagen supplements. |
