Just a bit of advice to the younger readers who are looking in the mirror and seeing the first hints of lines, sag, skin thinning etc:

Don't wait. Do something about it now. Don't think you're being vain or overly worried to do so. I waited too long before I started getting into Collagen Induction, because I still looked 'pretty good for my age'. Then, quite suddenly it seemed, I no longer looked good at all. Despite starting facial exercises early enough to maintain structure and using lots of sunblock most of my life, my caucasian, almost celtic, skin just got exhausted and collagen-depleted with age, peri-menopause and sun damage.

Microneedling can only produce very small amounts of collagen each time, so battling deep lines and thin or crepey skin is a big task. I'm having success, but wish I'd started years ago.

My parenthesis lines, for instance, would never have become deep and started extending up and down.

I'm not saying do microneedling - that's between you and your derm. But don't let the lines get deep and the skin thin and weak.

So what do you suggest one do?

I am thankful for the advice from the wise here, because I can only imagine what it's going to be like when my skin just gets exhaused, cuz right now, it's pretty tired. Makeup is starting to look horrible on me. Its making me look older. I look so much younger and better without it but I look to plain. I don't know if i'm wearing the wrong foundation or what, but I'm not happy with my skin at all Sad

My advice is to look at and solve your specific problems early enough. They can be different for everyone. One thing for me has been holding the facial structure up with exercises (building up over the cheekbones a bit has also helped me look less plain). For thinning, wrinkling skin collagen induction is working for me, but very slowly, and I wish I had started years ago, when the first lines appeared and obvious thinning in places.

About makeup: do you really need foundation? Perhaps just try a bit of concealer where needed and then emphasising your best features? Makeup experts seem to always tell women that less is more as we age Smile.
