I did a quick look and the few Canadian ones that I found were either for young people -- I am middle-aged -- or had too few active members. Do Canadians just use American dating websites? I prefer the paid sites. Fewer timewasters than the free ones, in my experience. |

Hi Softskin,
I know a few women who've met their hubbies onwww.lavalife.com. I can't say whether it is good or not, because I've never used it personally. They spoke highly of it and weren't really young. Both women were well into their 40's when they used the service. I know they were happy with it.
Just stay away from the free ones - I think they are dangerous. |

Many Canadians actually do use American dating sites, especially the larger paid ones like eHarmony, Match, or Christian Mingle, because they have a wider user base, including Canadians. It can be tough finding Canada-specific platforms with enough active members, especially for middle-aged users. I’ve also come across some Asian dating sites Philippines users recommend, which seem to have a decent number of serious members. Paid sites definitely tend to filter out a lot of the timewasters, and you are more likely to find people who are serious about a relationship. You might also want to check if the major sites allow you to filter by region or province. That can help narrow things down without limiting your options too much. |

Many local dating sites feel pretty quiet unless you’re in a big city. I ended up using a mix of Canadian and U.S.-based paid sites because, like you, I find fewer time-wasters when people have some investment in the platform. My best advice is to check reviews before signing up, as some sites look active but really aren’t. I once had an issue with a subscription renewal and had to reach out to https://cupid.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html for help. Paid sites can work, but research saves frustration. |
