Greetings.

I'm a thirtysomething male, and I'm concerned about the appearance of the eye area.

I have dry, puffy skin under my eyes, and there is some redness. There is also some milia. Essentially, my eyes have a haggard appearance.

I've used over-the-counter eye creams that caused more problems than they solved. I don't currently use any eye treatments and was hoping that you could recommend some that would address dehydration, puffiness, and milia.

Thanks!

Very Happy

I think the b5 gel may be good for mild hydration. There are various eye creams for serious hydration. I use Eucerin or Skinceuticals Emollience cream for intense moisturizing & they work well. I plan to add camellia oil to my regime soon.

Some products you may want to consider for moisturizing under-eye area & reducing puffiness:
Dr Hauschka Eye Contour Day Cream,
Dr Hauschka Eye Solace,
SkinCeuticals Eye Gel,
SkinCeuticals Eye Balm,
SkinCeuticals Eye Cream.

You may also want to see a doc. to find out the cause of puffiness or dehydration.

I'm sorry I cannot help with the milia (what is this btw?), but I'm sure other forum members will help.

The MD Formulations Vit-a-Plus eye cream is very good for millia but I wouldn't use it all over the eye area if you have sensitive skin.

I would recommend either Cellcosmet Eye Contour cream or the Babor Sensational Eyes eye cream as light weight moisturisers for the eye area. The puffiness can be difficult to fix as it's difficult to determine what is causing it. For example, you may have some allergies that you are not even aware of. I would see a Dr about that if it persists. However, in the meantime you can try cold compresses on the eye area to keep the puffiness down. Cold (used) chamomile tea bags are a good option and also feel nice when your eyes are tired.

Redness, dryness and puffy under eye area sounds like allergies to me. Years ago one of my good friends had this problem. When I talk to her I will find out how she dealt with it. It might be a good idea to see a derm. as I feel that it sounds like you need more than a moisturizer. Do your eyes ever feel itchy? If you are not drinking plenty of water I would start there. Notice if any of your family members also have this condition. It might be something an antihistimine can be beneficial for. Alegra or something similiar.

Thanks to all of you for your recommendations.

The puffiness around the eyes appeared a few years ago. It was almost as if it developed overnight. I talked to my doctor about it, but he didn't seem very concerned. I had my thyroid tested, and everything was fine.

I haven't noticed a lot of itching, but I definitely have watery, burning eyes. I was thinking of getting checked for allergies.

I will definitely look into the products that you recommended.

Thanks again!

Do you suffer from hay fever?

You might also want to try gentle massaging to help with the draining of the puffiness.
