Has anyone had their moles removed? What were some of the methods? Scarring? Would you do it over? How does it look now?
I'm doing an internship in S. Korea this summer. I've been told that they remove facial moles (all of them) for $100. That seems like an awesome deal. I have a lot of big moles. They are flat, with no hairs. It almost looks as though the pore or cell leaked something and became tinted with black. There are about ten larger ones and ten smaller ones. |

I know a lot of people who regularly get dark spots and moles cut out (because of skin cancer concerns). I don't know how much it costs but a few weeks after the stitches come out you can barely tell that there was anything there. It does depend on the Dr though - some do a better job than others. |

i'm going in a few days to see my dermatologist about getting my moles removed.. I talked to the lady booking the app, I asked her about prices she said about $125 to remove on, and about $350 to make sure it's not cancer, they have to send it to a lab bla bla.. so lets see what the doctor says. |

I had a small one done when I was younger. I don't remember clearly, but what it felt like was they used this applicator and dipped it in some cream and applied it over my mole. It stung a little and after i say...20mins or so? the lady removed it and she put a band-aid over it.
I removed the bandaid a day later and a scab formed... and when the scab fell off my mole was gone.
i don't know if this is how they do it now... maybe my method is pretty ancient. |

When I was a teenager (35 years ago), I had a raised mole removed. Took about 5 stitches - deep roots on that bugger. The scar disappeared after almost 1 year and remains that way even today. |

Hello everyone,
I had 3 medium sized ones and 6 tiny flat, hairless moles removed from my face last year. Via laser. The most painful thing I've experienced seconded by the tattoo my girlfriends talked me into getting when I was in Las Vegas December 31, 1999 to celebrate the end of the millenium(BTW, I was not sober, ).
It took about 2-3 weeks for the scab to fall off (I had a really hard time trying not to pick or itch them). The smaller ones are completely gone now with no visible scars. One of the 3 bigger ones is gone and the other 2 are so faint that unless you come up very close to my face to go looking for it, it's almost invisible. Luckily, my moles were superficial and not deep.
Now my only issue is dealing with all the freckles (a.k.a. sun spots, sun damage) that refuse to budge with all the vitamin C serum and copper peptides I've been piling on. |

Hey freckles are sexy!!!!!
I have freckles on my nose and I love being a freckle-pot. You just need to learn to love them.
I went to Vegas and loved it - was lucky enough to stay in the Venetian, my boyfriend is desperate to go back....but he knows it will cost him lots of pennies with all the shopping |

I have had a couple of small moles cut off, but none on my face. The last time the doctor used a tool that stung a bit. I didn't even ask what it was(electrical zap? freezing?)I have a few I would like to remove that are bigger and she was testing to see if I scarred.A scab formed and there was no scarring. The sting was minimal. |

I had a mole removed from my lower left cheek many years ago (they used to be referred to as "Beauty Marks" ). Family thing as my Aunt had one in the same exact spot and my son has it too (same spot). My doctor advised me having it removed in the fear it could change (cancer). I had a few stitches and absolutely no scar. I had many flat moles removed from my back several years ago also. In the case of my back moles they were frozen....ouch!!! my back was so sore for a week. I do not have any scares on my back at all.
I was fortunate as my health insurance payed for each appointment. Have no idea of the cost out of pocket.
When my Mother was young, woman would pencil a so called "beauty mark" on their face. Wonder if that will ever become in style again. |

Hi everyone ..I have been scanning this board for a year now and finally decided its time I registered!
I wanted to share my experience last week with some moles being removed. I had two different proceedures...cutting(2) and 'burning'(5). The one cut out was on the side of my face and the other on my back..the burnt ones all on my back. I didnt really feel any pain with the burning..maybe just a bit with a larger dark spot. She double stitched my back and have to wait extra time to have the stitches taken out with that one...she said the face heals faster? Anyways there is some scabbing on my back that I am trying not to itch right now lol..The Dr. also said she will use the genesis laser on the cut areas to 'smooth' them out to prevent scarring. So far I am VERY happy I had this done! What I did want to pass on you all of you was that the Dr. insisted I use an abrasive brush on my back everyday..I got the impression that you can scrub off those dark spots and prevent more from reoccuring by doing this..she even went so far as to show me a pic of what can happen if I didnt do this...oh I have also heard from friends that the burnt ones can come back...Hope this helps ..TY |
