Ok - I have to add my two cents here!!! I purchased StriVectin and, to be honest, I cannot really say if its an effective product or not because I haven't really used it. I didn't like the smell or feel of it, and Klein Becker makes clear that, in order for it to work to maximum effectiveness, you have to be really diligent in its use, and I just haven't been prepared to do that. I'm going through all this because I think its relevant that I'm just not a fan of the product. What I do plan to do is to use it on my body - I have several friends who have and they are delighted with the toning quality of it.
But the reason I'm posting is because of the comments that the company is being investigated for fraud. Klein Becker is a really fine company but it is also a small and relatively independent one. A closer look makes it pretty clear that they were targetted by some of the larger drug companies because of the wild success of some of their products. Unfortunately, this happens with a fair degree of frequency and it often has the effect of driving smaller (by comparison to the mega companies), innovative companies into bankruptcy.
Yes - they were under investigation. BUT the keyword is INVESTIGATION. The charges against were found to be frivolous and unfounded. So, whether or not you decide to try the product, do it on its own merits. I think its so important that as consumers, we not allow ourselves to be swayed by unsubstantiated and often times ill motivated rumor.
As for the price - I purchased mine at a great price from a reputable seller on ebay. You have to be careful when purchasing cosmeceuticals there because there is an awful lot of fraud that goes on. I won't buy from Asian based sellers because they are notorious!!! I also won't buy anything that doesn't come in its original packaging. So, with that said, and with all due respect to Magda, its always worth it to check a products availability there when its pricey.
Whewwww - done !!! Sorry, ladies, its the lawyer in me.... (slapping mahself....lol) |

Something like this that is so expensive should come in smaller or be available to buy in sample sizes. I know you wont get great results in time from a sample but at least you will know whether or not it agrees with your skin and you can consider whether its worth investing in or not. |

It's actually a pretty good buy ounce per ounce...I've spent more than $159 on one ounce so 6 ounces (for something that I find effective) is a wing-dang of a bargain! To turn this into a product review again: Strivectin SD is an AMAZING restorative hand cream (have I said that in a past thread?!) Ok..I'll stop..

Stri-Vectin is yet another expensive cream I've tried with no noticeable results -- the two vertical lines between my eyebrows didn't diminish to any great degree, if at all. It's quite heavy and clogged my pores. I stayed with it though, because of the promise it held out. I can't recommend it based on my experience, and didn't re-purchase it. Nothing so far has beaten Botox injections for furrow reduction, and as far as moisturizing goes, there are cheaper and better ones than Stri-Vectin. |

Hi m.april!
Keeping in mind, of course, that one person's fountain of youth is another person's waste of time. I have suffered no adverse reaction or congestion whatsoever with the Strivection - I got great results; including a noticeable reduction in lines - especially around my eyes....the glabbelar lines are a whole different story and, I think, pretty much impossible to erradicate completely without perlane or botox (but I did get a good reduction with the SVSD). For you, unfortunately, it was a total waste of time and money - but for me - the complete opposite! Lucky me!

Hi m.april - I've heard that the glabbelar lines are most difficult to put to rest with botox and that it can often take more botox than expected to relax the area...can you tell us what your experience was? Did it take much? How long does it last?
Thanks!

Hi Pudoodles - Maybe it's a bit of an exaggeration to use the term "furrows" in my case. I have two vertical lines between my brows that Botox diminishes beautifully. The plastic surgeon charges $250 and makes about ten quick pricks in the glabellar region after applying a numbing cream. The effect lasts about four months. Another benefit of it is that it helps my migraines!!! They usually affect me most around my eye sockets and the Botox takes care of it, although one time I got a headache but only felt it in the temple area. Perhaps this should be a new topic, but I've found that Prescriptives "Magic" helps camouflage these and other lines. It's like a silicone caulk/spackle. The only problem is that I have to apply it over rather than under make-up as blending on top of it is problematic. I'm almost 53 - would you mind telling me how old you are? I'm intrigued that you've had success with Stri-Vectin. |

m.april - I'm so glad you are back! I haven't tried the Prescriptives "Magic" but am very interested! Can you do a product review on it? That would be GREAT! I'd love to hear more! The area between my eyes has always been a nightmare for me...Vivier C serum 20, Vivier Topical Muscle Relaxant and the Strivectin has gotten the best results for me so far...but it's been such a nightmare that maybe "any real" results are a miracle! My number 11 lines drive me NUTS - the one on the right is worse....If I pull the skin taut in that area - I can still see the creases a bit...Other than that, I'm quite pleased with myself And very pleased with my basics: Strivectin, Vivier C, TMR (and some successful experimenting with eye treatments) Having said that, I sometimes think I should just cave in and get botox injections for those furrows...The $250 for a 4-month result -- what currency is that in - US or Canadian? And please, if you have time - post a review on the "Magic"! - oh yes, - and I'm 40!

Botox here in the US is about 15$ a unit. So....say if you have deep furrows between the brow(like me ) Then it would about 15 units so it comes out to be about $250! So it sounds like it must be about the same or about 15% less for you since the us $ is not so strong now. I want to do it soooo- bad but I have to wait till I stop breast feeding. |

Pudoodles....you say the VTMR works really good? Have you tried any of the other stuff like the argireline creams? I wonder if they work that well. Also....serious skin care came out with a new product called Rulinea-FX, it is supposed to be like Strivectin but I have not tried it. I just got my Strivectin for eyes....now I am thinking about putting on my furrows since you say it works so well!! |

Hi Trueblu - You have the Strivectin for the EYES?! How is it? I'd love to hear!! The Vivier TMR is an interesting product...I "think" it built on the Strivectin and vitamin C results because I "think" I look more rested or "calm". The furrows kind of made me look a little tense even if if I wasn't feeling tense...and having used the V TMR for about 8 weeks, I don't think I look quite so pee'd off! The only other argirelene treatments I've tried are: Aloette Line Relief Concentrate (supposed to have 15% argirelene) which didn't work for me ...and NuVectin...which was too drying...I am intrigued by RulineaX!!! I refrained from buying it last time Serious Skin was on the Shopping Channel but I think I'm going to have to buckle and give it a go when they return on Friday! Have you tried the Rulinea?!

well you could always order online if you miss it on Friday. I have not tried the Rulina, it looks iteresting though. As far as the Strivectin, I just got it last week so it's too soon to tell! I did put it between my eyebrows earlier after I read your post!! I think it is pretty much the same as the regular without added hint of mint. You are so funny...I totally have the same peeved look too! I My mom says its because I started scrunching my brows together at age 3!! |

pudoodles, you seem to be a huge fan of SVSD.. can i ask whether you've tried the eye cream as well or do you just use the original cream on your eye area ? (i'm looking to save some $$ since the eye cream is less expensive). |

Isn't it awful?! I think I was born "scrunching" - I actually try very hard now not to scrunch...Anyways, please don't forget to do a review on the eye cream! I'd be very interesting in hearing about it! Hi Leaffie: I must sound like a bit of a Strivectin nut..funnily enough, I've been experimenting alot lately (I'll be posting to the review board soon!)....the success I've had around the eye area is indeed from the regular SVSD...(can you believe it??)...It's so strange how differently people seem to respond to this cream...I really like it...on the other hand, my sister breaks out like crazy if she tries to use it!
