Have I got completely *MAD* or are the British simply the funniest people on the planet?! I recently subscribed to BBC World and BBC Canada (TV) - and I cannot get over how HILARIOUS the British comedies are?! Does anyone else find them as funny as I do? Does anyone else out there laugh as hard as I do at the show, "Little Britain"? Sometimes, on my way to work, I'll just *think* about that show and start laughing! Every British comedy I see makes me laugh out loud - and laugh hard! Holy Smokes - the British are funny!! Talk about self-depracating humour - it's brilliant!!

My sister told me about it too, I searched on netflix.com, CANNOT find the DVD, maybe it's not out yet. As I was addicted to "The office", I KNOW I will love this too. Just can't wait to watch it.

I enjoy British humor too! I loved Shaun of the Dead and I watch a lot of the same actors on Spaced. I'll have to check out if BBC America carries little Britain!

Oh Diderot you are SO lucky!!! I watched The Office last night - it comes on just before Little Britain - I just love it! My sister thinks I'm nuts! She just looks at the TV then back at me, then at the TV and back at me - like I'm nuts!! I guess you either "click in" to that kind of humour or you don't!

Gee, my brother said he'd house sit for me if I get BBC America. He's addicted. Maybe I should tune in myself and get off this skincare forum! Has a "laugh line" thread started yet?

That's nice of you to say so. Usually others don't get our sense of humour as it's full of irony. Americans just don't seem to get "The Office" or "Little Britain". We've come a long way since Monty Python, Benny Hill and Are you Being Served, three programmes that are always doing the rounds somewhere in the world but are now so outdated.

I love "Little Britain", especially the only gay in the village! I love Vicky the school girl, as well. Do you also get "The Vicar of Dibley", that's pretty hilarious too.

Yes Little Britain is a huge hit over here in the Uk - was never a big fan of the office, more aimed at the Southerners.
Oh god on the busses, I remember the re-runs of this when I was a kid - the whole family would sit round and watch it. Have any of you seen the League Of Gentlemen or Peter Kay????
I'm sure if you want anything on DVD have a look on e-bay Smile

I've watched the DVD and while some bits of it were really funny, in general I wasn't too impressed with it. Mind you, I've had it hyped up to me for ages. A few of my good friends have been constantly talking about how funny it is so I had very high expectations before I watched it.

About to watch some Monty Python on DVD though Wink

If you like 'Little Britain' and 'The Office' you should enjoy 'Nighty Night'. It's very funny. Smile

I love British humor. It's very smart, and I find myself laughing out loud at it, and the same thing happens to me when I think about it later, I start giggling to myself.

I loved the movies Love Actually, which featured a mostly British cast, and About a Boy - I know they both have Hugh Grant in them, but anytime they come on the tube here, I watch them. There's only a couple of other movies I never get sick of watching - don't ask me why, but I never turn off Harrison Ford in The Fugitive and I love The Sting w/ Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

Maria Very Happy

Speaking of british humour, I am also addicted to EDDIE IZZARD, I watched ALL of his standups, my favourite being "The circle" and "Definite article".

Monty Python is great stuff! I have John Cleese's Ministry of Silly Walks framed and hanging in my office at work (it keeps me from taking life too seriously)...

I've never heard of the Vicar of Dibley...will try to track it down, though! And yes, the Brits are so frigging funny!! Another funny character from Little Britain is that idiotic hypnotist from the flea market - he's just hilarious! Whoever that actor is - he is just great!

You're all having a good laugh Laughing and making me want to cry Sad . If there's one thing I really miss since leaving England it's the sense of humour. The Chinese don't get British humour AT ALL where I live. In fact some of them have told me I don't have a sense of humour - can you imagine a more insulting thing to say to a Brit? But the fact is if I make any jokes they look baffled and or worse think I'm really insulting. Humour certainly is a delicate cultural issue.

I'm glad you all like it.

P.S. Pudoodles, I remember 'on the buses' - it was awful! I'm really embarrassed to think we'd export it.
