I've been using Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream for a week or so and just a couple of days ago added Dr. H Clarifying Toner. All was well until today when I woke up with little blackheads all over my face. I have them even on my temples, cheekbones and other places I never get them. They were close to popping out on their own so it took very little effort to extract them, but still it was yucky. No other cyst like purging though. I haven't had this many blackheads since I tried Creme De La Mer!
Is this normal? I thought it was supposed to reduce blackheads. I was really liking the cleanser and the glow it gave me and already have two more tubes on the way. I'm hoping someone can confirm this is just part of the deep cleansing process. If so, how long should this blackhead party last? GOD help me, I can't live this way very long!

Hi Cheri-
Hope it clears up soon. I know some people have problems with breakouts once trying Dr.H, but have never heard of this happening. What is your skintype like?
Also, do you take makeup off and cleanse before using the cleansing cream, especially at night? Maybe it isn't being effective if the first cleansing isnt happening?
Hope it all goes ok for you tho.

Cheri - just wondering if this started when you started using the Dr H toner? Someone else here posted that they had a breakout that seemed to be because of the toner. Perhaps drop off the toner and see how you go with the CC itself. If that is going well then add the toner again and see if you have the same problem. Sorry, grasping at straws here.... |

Thanks for the suggestions and support Mabsy & Maddy. I am using my standard Dermalogica Ultra Calming Cleanser first before the Dr. H. I have combination skin, oily around the chin and nose area, usually only a few blackheads ever surfaced on my nose. I fully expected some purging, but I am not exaggerating when I say there was at least 40 blackheads! I feel dirty just typing it.
I'll stop using the clarifying toner to see if that helps. It'll be a shame if that's the culprit too, because I really felt pampered with it. I should get my Dr. H rejuvenating mask in the mail today, so should I use that?

Sorry to hear about all the problems you've been having. You will enjoy the rejuvenating face mask though.
Have a try putting apple cider vinegar on those blackheads - works for for me |

Cheri - as much as I like the mask I would suggest you hold off until you figure out what the cause of the blackheads is. |
