Hi ladies, I’m a long time lurker of the microneedling threads. I have had my face and neck done by an aesthetician 6 times, a series of 3 every other winter. I’ve also dabbled in some DIY rolling over the years but recently decided to get the derminator 2.

My question is for all you brilliant scientific women that seem to understand so thoroughly how the body heals and responds to actives and microneedling etc. I don’t recall this being covered in the forums and found nothing with a search. I recently underwent a major surgery that will leave a decent scar. At some point I’ll likely needle the scar, but initially I’m wondering if a microneedling session elsewhere will interfere with my body’s wound healing of the surgical scar? Ideally I would like to have another needling session around 4 weeks post surgery. Can the body respond to both “wounds” at the same time? Should I wait until my surgery wound has healed more? TIA

For anyone that might be curious, these are my derminator results. 1 session single needle 2.5mm on hip stretch marks, left side. I became dizzy and could not finish the right side. My left sides marks are noticeably less shallow and are more blended in general (my marks are super wide here). This scared me at first because it caused large bruises around the veins. I noticed the improvement around 3 weeks and thought it must be inflammation. But at this point it’s been 6 weeks and still looks much improved after only one session. Session 2 was 2.25mm to my thighs. I didn’t target the individual SMs which might take hours or days - and covered most of my front and side thighs. My goal was skin tightening/smoothing. It’s been 5 weeks and whether it’s still healing or also due to losing 5 pounds, I’m much happier with my legs already. I would like to get more sessions in to these areas and new ones before summer is full force. I used environ dermalac & ACE oil on the areas before and for a couple weeks post needling.
