I just bought an Avene sunscreen from London Drugs last night. The saleslady was so nice and generous...I finally received lots of sample from her. I don't think I'll try them all out now, so can't give any comments. I know Avene has something for sensitive and hypersensitive skin. Have the visited their site? anyway, here's the link:www.aveneusa.com |

I've sampled and purchased several Avene products and have to report that Avene and I just aren't meant to be. We are incompatible.
I have normal-dry but very sensitive skin so was hopeful when I bought:
Trixera moisturiser - initially it seemed perfect. Moisturised without being greasy and had no fragrance. Even DS was willing to use it on his extra-dry skin. Right after I bought a second tube, we both developed dermatitis and the Trixera was the culprit.
Diacneal - I'm on a break from this and haven't decided whether I'll give it another try. I think the glycolic acid gives me red bumps.
Extreme Sunblock cream spf50 - it's got physical ingredients but is tinted so it blends in fairly well. Unfortunately I felt my freckles got darker when I was using this.
Skin Recovery Cream/Cicalfate - these are both meant for sensitive, irritated skins. I've sampled both and found they made my eczema worse.
La Roche Posay has the Toleriane line which is geared towards sensitive skins. I have fewer problems with their products and use the Dermo-Cleanser, Toleriane Fluid and Cicaplast almost daily.
A point to consider is that Avene uses mineral oil in a lot of their products while LRP's are silicone based. So you may have a preference for one or the other. Hope this helps a bit. |

I like Avene Ystheal gel at night. I used the emulsion but I think it clogged me where the gel does not. |

My Mother in law suffers from dry, sensitive skin and has had good results from Avene face creams, the body lotions are also good, especially during the winter months. |

I really like the thermal spray & the exfoliator is ok...but apart from that I didn't really like any of the cleansers or moisturisers I tried. |

I used to suffer from excema and very irritated skin on my face and Avene was the only thing that helped. I used the serum, skin recovery cream, eye cream, cream mask, and the mineral water spray and they worked very well and didn't cause breakouts. My skin loved it. But now that I've recovered from the eczema, I've moved on to more natural and affordable skincare products |
