Is there any that you guys recommend for a male? Preferably something that is common in places like Wal-Mart, etc. |

I would say that you have a couple options. You could get some oil blotting papers, a mattifying foundation, or a pressed powder. All of which are available in local places. I know Revlon makes a mattifying foundation, but I have never tried it. I think powder is probably an easier option. A lot of members on this forum use mineral powder, which I think would be very helpful, however it is not available at places like Wal-Mart... |

Hi, Instead of powder which may be detectable, you might want to try a mattifying lotion. I know Clinique makes one as does Peter Thomas Roth (although that line would not be available in a Wal-Mart type store.)
These lotions work very well. The blotting papers mentioned also work well. Clean and Clear makes great ones. They are a blue film and soak up major oil slicks. I think they are $5.99 for 50 sheets. |

I saw that physicians formula has a mineral powder out now...minerals give light feeling coverage and the colours match a wide variety of skin tones. this one might be worth looking into. |

I have the oiliest skin you can possibly imagine and I’ve tried just about everything under the sun to control it (powders, foundations, mattifying lotions/primers, blotting papers, etc) and they honestly haven't helped at all. The one single thing that has made the most difference in my skin is Decleor Aromessence Ylang Ylang oil – I know you’re going to get tired of me saying it!! Here’s where I describe the complete regimen that’s turned my skin around: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=5660&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
I can’t speak for every male, but I know my 20-year-old son would rather die than wear any type of makeup so I’m thinking that using a skincare regimen to control oil would be preferrable to most guys rather than having to wear any kind of cover up...but that’s just my take on it! |

What is mattifying lotion?
I wouldn't mind wearing a bit of powder in the morning, if it would help my oiliness.
carekate, how much has Ylang Ylang oil helped your oiliness? |

I think you can control oil better by other means, not through powder. For example, the Ylang Ylang oil that Carrie posted about gets really good reviews here and it seems to normalise oil production rather than absorb it (which is all a powder could do). If you are after just a powder though then I can definitely recommend the Jurlique Rose Dust - it's great at controlling shine through the day! This would not be available at Wal-Mart I don't think though, sorry! |

No glitter at all. It is invisible but you might find that if you over-apply you'll look a bit whiteish till you brush off the excess with a clean brush |
