I would like to tell you about the best foundation in the world for acne or rosacea sufferers.

DUM DEE DAH.....Dormer oil free, hypo-allergenic, water-based, opaque foundation.

I found this foundation in my second year of University at the campus pharmacy and have never turned back.

It has been faithful to me and never broken me out - ever. It's a medium to heavy concealer with a very nice finish that is easy to control because of the water base of the product. The ingredients are pure and non-toxic and completely non-irritating (in fact the Kaolin they add is a skin soother). They also claim to have an SPF 8, although I don't put much stock in that. For my Warm Beige colour the ingredients listed are:

Deionized Water, Glycerine, Kaolin, Glyceryl Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Mica, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Cetyl Alcohol, Treithanolamine, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Isosteramide DEA, Isostearic Acid, Lecithin, Cellulose Gum, Methyl & Propylparaben, Polysorbate 20, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Simethicone, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, May contain: Titanium Oxide, Iron Oxide, Ultramarine Blue.

Dormer is a small Canadian based cosmetics company who make a humble but terrific line of non-irritating cosmetics, moisterizers, and treatments, ect. I've dabbled in their hyaluronic acid moisterizers and their sunblocks, but their foundation is my holy grail. 35 ml sets me back about $20 CAN and it lasts me for months.

The only complaint I can think of for this product is the packaging. It is hard to reach all of the product in the bottle without creative devices (like Q-tips or a small makeup brush).

Yes, that's the link to their commercial site although there's a typo in that link moosette.

Here it is again http://www.skincareforall.com
and this is their original site: http://www.Dormer.com which lists some of the retail outlets that sell the products over the counter in Canada.

Apparently they have a special line of concealers for all sorts of skin problems and conditions as well. The site has a little tutorial for concealing using the various base colours that they offer in that line. Not to sound like a commercial for them, but I'm just going to cut and paste the bit from their site about concealer colours, because I think it's pretty cool and might help someone here out:

GREEN: Masks redness, acne. rosacea, post-operative burns, telangiectasis.

YELLOW: Conceals purple and blue bruises, hypo-pigmentation, white scars.

MAUVE: Covers black/blue, and brown bruises, hyper-pigmentation, dark circles under the eyes in Caucasian skin.

LAVENDER: Masks yellowish bruises, hyper-pigmentation, dark circles under the eyes of yellowish and olive toned skin, also darker skin Perks up sallow skin. Helps minimize facial lines in darker skin.

WHITE: Highlights and gives the appearanca of fulIness: can be used to emphasize features.
Helps minimize facial lines. Excellent for mixing colours.
