I don't know if this subject has already been discussed here many times before, but I'd really need your help.
I ordered by mail Bare Escentuals loose foundation in #1.2 fairy light, and it's a bit too dark for me. Has anyone used both colors #1.2 fairy light and #1 fair? Is #1 much lighter than #1.2, is there much difference? Or, does anyone know where I could find a good color map for Bare Escentual loose foundation online?
I really like the idea of the product, but if the colors are too dark for me... Does anyone know any other brands that have lighter shades and that could be ordered by mail outside US/Canada?
Thanks for your help! |

From my experience #1 is lighter and pinkish (whereas #1.2 is yellow-based). The following pictures are linked from the beaddicts.com site.
This is #1
and this is #1.2
Go to beaddicts.com for more pictures |

Thank you so much for prompt answers! I now think color #1 is definitely more suitable for my skin color.
Should have asked here before ordering the foundation in the first place... well, live and learn |

You can order samples from sellers at ebay and I think EDS sale the kits for new users that have 2 or 3 shades of the foundations for you to try. A lot of people like the JI minerals and you can buy samples of them from skin-etc also on ebay. I prefer the BE and use 1.2 if I had not just bought a new large jar I would have offered to buy it from you. You may be able to swop it with some-one on here or flog it on ebay. |

Thanks for the tips, you all.
I think I'll try a mixture of the two shades first (even though the other is for pink and the other for yellow skin tones) to see if I can get a nice mix for summer, when my skin color is a bit darker. If that doesn't work, I'll try selling the #1.2 shade. |

That should work for you, the mineral makeup shades are generally quite forgiving. I have mixed #1 and #1.2 together before and was happy with the result. |
