Hi all
I have just received the Cellex-C starter kit for sensitive skin (it contains one 15ml bottle of Serum for Sensitive skin and one 15ml bottle of Hydra 5 B-Complex).
Well I followed the instructions last night and first put on the serum. I must admit I was expecting it to be a silky kind of serum, but it instantly dried on my face, leaving it feeling very tight and dry. I then followed it with the Hydra 5 B-Complex which was more 'smooth' feeling. This took the dry sensation away a little bit but not completely.
I then waited a little while and followed with my normal moisturiser. However even with my moisturiser on top my skin still felt quite 'tight' and not very pleasent???
Is this what I should expect? Do I need to persevere and see how it progresses?
Any advice welcome!!

I had a dry/tight feeling with Cellex-C serum also. I think it is just the formulation, and it is better suited to oily skin. Your skin may get used to it, but I am not sure...If you want to keep using I would recommend following it all up with a heavier moisturizer. Also, be careful with how much c serum you are putting on. In the future, you may want to try the Vivier serum. That gets a lot of great reviews on here and is supposed to be a more moisturising c serum |

I think that is about right. Experiences with Cellex-C, Skinceuticals and Vivier have made me now suggest different serums based on the skin type. I had a tight feeling with the Cellex-C and the Serum 10 by Skinceuticals as well. Vivier has a much better texture if you have dry skin - no dry feeling at all.
I would suggest that you contol how much of the serum you put on (just a few drops will do) and then wait 10 minutes before you put on the B5 gel and then wait a bit until you put on your moisturiser. If you're still finding your skin is dry then I would suggest stepping up the moisturiser and buying a different texture of a vit C serum in the future (Vivier or CSRx). Even if you have to step up the moisturiser the effects of the vit C should be worth it |
