hi,

ok, i need a decent (but preferably low cost) moisturiser for my face. if possible it must have the following requirememnts:

not too greasy (im not sure what my skin type it, but if i use a greasy moustuiser then it just makes my skin look much more greasy!)

low cost
little/no smell
anti irritant (good to use after shaving etc)

i have tried "simple skin defnce for men" which is nice, but i wondered if there were any better alternatives out there??

also, i would like another (cheaper) moisturiser for the rest of my body. my gym habbits mean i take several showers a day so need to moisturise!

thanks Very Happy

PS i have started to use nivea face scrub cleanser for men- it works well (i have stopped using soap) but should i use this twice a day, or just accasionally? if only use accasionally, what should i use to wash my face the rest of the time? i do have slightly spotty skin so i would think it was worth sticking with!

PPS i have recently bought some ACV for my face- how often should i use this? also, my skin is about normal i would suggest except my nose & forehead which are greasy. what ratio of AVC to water should i use?

phew!- a lot of qs- sorry!

Hey there! Both my dad and boyfriend use the Cetaphil daily skin pretection (I think it's called, the one in the pump bottle with spf 15.) They really like it, and I remember loving it when I used it. I've actually had a hard time finding one I like as much (I'm pale and prone to sun-spots unless I use a higher spf.) I've settled on the Obagi spf35, but the Cetaphil is so light and never once broke me out (moisturizers can easily break me out if my skin doesn't like them.)

Although I do also recommend staying away from washing your face/body with soap, the Cetaphil gentle cleansing bar (it's actually not soap at all, just looks like it) is really really nice and gentle. I use that quite often in my cleanser rotation cycle since I use a separate exfoliator anyway (Dermalogica Microfoliant.) Smile The boyfriend uses it on his face and back religiously.

Cetaphil moisturizers are perdy dern cheap, too (I paid about $11-13 for the aforementioned one.)

COMPLEX 15. They make a moisturizer for the face and the body. They are perfect. Not greasy, no smell, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic...You can buy it at Shoppers Drug Mart for sure for under 10 bucks. You will thank me. I especially know a lot of guys who use it. I was on Accutane and needed something to stop my face from falling off. Cetaphil was noticeable and that's what I hate about moisturizers! With Complex 15 it does the trick but you don't feel that there is something there.

Just buy a big tube of urea cream. It is the simplest I can think of and my husband uses it as well. You can use it anywhere.

My brother has very allergic lips - his derm prescribed a 15% urea cream as well and he raves about it. He's allergic even to Vaseline!

My husband is sensitive skinned and has shared my face cream from the Organic Make-up Co as its really light and has good spreadibility. If you want a 20%, just drop an email to kenneth_e_jameson @ yahoo.com.au.

The Urea may irritate your skin, but you may consider pure aloe as well.

my boyfriend swears by Nivia Visage Oil free moisturing lotion, he has sensitive, oily acne prone skin and loves this stuff, he also sometimes mixes in tea tree oil. I've just recently put some with hazel into a spray bottle for him which he uses before the lotion.
