Hi gals,
I've read so many posts on this board and I figure these are the most useful things mentioned on this board:
UVA/UVB sun cream
VC
glycolic acid
Retinoid
Argireline
copper peptide
Vitamin E
....and so on
I am 29 with dry skin. My main concern is to get rid of the fine lines that is emerging and some spots on my cheek that are really bothering me. I wish I could incorporate as many good stuff in my routine as possible(sorry I am so greedy ) but I have a few questions:
1. At my age, which ones should I use?
2. I am sure I can't use all of them at the same time. Which ones I can use together in the morning and at night?
If possible, could you recommend some products? I am so overwhelmed with so many choices on EDS.
Thanks a lot! |

For the AM I would get a C&E serum, like Skinceuticals or IS Clinical Pro Heal (I use this and LOVE it), follwed by something with Argireline, like Relax-a-line. For dry skin you may also want to inclde an HA, follwed by moisturizer if you need it. In the PM you could use a retinoid product (for dry skin, go with renova as opposed to retin-a). These would all really target your fine lines and help with any age spots. I personally really like MD Skincare Alpha Beta Peels; they have 10% glycolic acid. I use them 4 or 5 days a week. That gets everything but copper peptides... For UV protection, I recently started using La Roche Posay as it gives the best UVA and UVB protection. |

Thanks for your reply, faith. I also heard great things about the La Roche Posay suncream. I guess I have to try it
Where do you get the IS Clinical stuff? Is this a VC serum type of thing? It sounds really interesting.
I am a bit hesitate on the argireline and retinoid because I don't know whether I need them at my age. Since you have suggested it I guess your answer is yes?
I also have the dermalogica daily microfoliant and I really like it. Can I combine it with the AHA skin peels or I should only use one of them?
Sorry for so many questions. |

If you are using a prescription retinoid, then you may not need the peels, because combining them may prove too irritating. If you want to get rid of your lines and spots, then retinoid is the way to go.
And yes, C serums and LRP sunscreens. |

IS Clinical does not like ship out if the US, but there is a site that will. www.theskincareinstitute.com When I first ordered from them they seemed a littel disorganized, but now their customer service is really improved; excellent really. In my last order they sent me 4 more IS samples and instructions for use, and a follow up email. If you are in the States, skinterra.com is good too.
Yes, it is a 15% C serum, but it also has 1% E and 1% A, and kojic acid and olive leaf extract, I believe.
I wouldn't worry about your age so much, if your skin warrants the use of the products. You don't have to apply products, like relax-a-line, all over. just on the lines.
If you like the microfoliant, just keep using it. But I would not use it at the same time as a peel. I only suggested it as it was one of the actives you were looking for If you decide against the retinoid, then the peel might be a good idea...you could just alternate days with the microfoliant. |
