Hi,
I was wodering if anybody can recommend something I can use to "repair" my face. I've had acne since I was about 16 (i'm 21 now), and I've finally been able to get rid of them, however, scars are still visible. Does anybody know if there is anything on the market that can take care of the problem?
thanks in advance |

Dr H rejuvenating mask is supposed to help soften acne scars. I haven't used it yet myself (I just ordered it yesterday) but it has some great reviews: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/dr-hauschka-rejuvenating-p_2063.htm. There is also a post on the product review forum about it. Once I get it I'll let you know how well it works (I have flattened red scars on my chin from some hormonal acne). Good luck! |

Hey princesita
For acne scars do consider Decleor Prolagene gel.
It's highly recommended for scars including acne scars, post surgery scars, dog bites etc, for face and body.
It's miracle product but it doesn't work over night - you have to use it regularly and consistently. Some people have seen results within weeks but obviously it depends on the nature of the scar and how your skin responds. I recommended it to a male colleague at work because he was concerned about the deep acne scars on his face (he was getting married a few months later)and he was very impressed with the results. He was considering some drastic surgical intervention at the time and I urged him to try this before booking a consultation. His scarring had reduced by at least 75% (his words..) by the time of his wedding, which was just brilliant and really boosted his confidence. The other benefit of Prolagene is that its good for anti-aging and general toning and firming of the skin. It's a green gel so you can use it where you need it most.

I second the vote for vitamin C. I've been using C serum for about 2 months and it's been great for my skin tone, texture, etc.

Hi, there!
When you say you have scars you want to get rid of, do you mean red marks or pitted scarring? Peels seem to help with the red marks as do some creams with lightening agents. I was in the same situation as you--I was battling acne for a long time, but finally got it under control so I sought the help of an esthetics nurse for removal of acne scars(red marks and pits) and she recommended Obagi and possibly a Blue Chemical Peel if I still needed it after the Obagi. I am on the Obagi now. The only prob with this system is that for a lot of acne prone gals like us, it makes us breakout again first before it peels, turns red, and then reveals smooth new skin. Perhaps you can see your dermatologist if your scarring warrants something like that or first try topical creams and products to see if they will suffice. |
