I would also like to know how this compares to Jane Iredale and Bare Escentuals, there's never much feedback on this line

Hi there, thought I'd throw my 2 cents in because I really haven't seen many posts on Glominerals either....

I've been using the Glominerals Gloliquid foundation for over a year now because I've never found anything that covers so well - I get compliments on my skin all the time even when I'm having an acne breakout!! The trick is to moisturize your skin beforehand & don't overdo it (which i know is easy to do with liquids) If you do it right, it goes on so smooth & covers all the red skin discolorations (i have red acne marks and the skin around my nose is always red for some reason). I don't even need concealer with this foundation - very nice!! And, it's supposed to be good for the skin and work as a sunblock (like any other mineral foundation), so that's an added bonus! Personally, I've never tried any powder foundations, so I can't really compare, but I'm satisfied with the liquid so I'll stick with that!

never tried it but when I went to a spa that sold jane iredale they had switched to glominerals. the lady there told me it was better quality...but I didn't even try it. I wish I had just so I could compare.

I tried the Glominerals loose base and found it to be very similar to the Jane Iredale. I think I reviewed it at some stage but the quality was comparable (IMO). I have not tried their liquid foundations. I'm tempted but it's hard for me to match a shade online...

Don't feel bad its hard to match in the salon as well, I found it to thick even w/brush and the colors were limited-Still HG JI liquid much more of a selection and easier to find

Just searched the forum for glominerals and found this thread! I wanted to add that I got a glominerals liquid foundation sample from EDS in my last order and I LOVE it!!! It is really creamy, not liquid at all, oil-free and covers red like a dream. I have the 'satin' finish and it looks so natural!! Not real matt or masking. My freckles are visible but it totally neutralizes the red. I am now on a mission to buy this foundation and I swore I would never use the stuff again after first trying MMU a year ago. This liquid is different though, it feels like pressed or loose MMU on my skin but seems more concentrated and easier to apply in specific areas where I need red reduction. Just like a good concealer but for much less $$! Which totally what I'm looking for in a product! Laughing I will review it formally if I can get a full size bottle and use it for awhile.

Lolli,

EDS doesn't ship it to Canada..weird that they'd send a sample of it.

If they won't send it I've seen it at this spa in vancouver http://www.oasisspa.ca

Argh! I've had my eye on this... I'll have to see if I can get a sample next time I order. Do you know what shade you are in JI by any chance and then what shade you are in the GloMinerals? Matching shades online is always "interesting"....

Lianne, I could hug you!! Smile I googled for a supplier, emailed Glominerals and the Canadian distributor, Vivier! and I've had no reply from either yet! I'm off to check this site out.

Mabsy, I was sent Golden Dark and it is too dark but actually wearable for some reason, it seems quite forgiving. I would order a lighter colour though to use every day.

I just checked out the colours http://www.glominerals.com/base_product.asp and Golden Light and Golden look the closest match to Warm Silk pressed. The Golden Fair looks too fair for me. I'll update when I get a lighter shade.

another nice one if Lycogel the salon where I go sells Glominerals as well as the Lycogel. The JI liquid has turned out to show the lines and does not sit well on my skin.Iam allergic to JI loose & pressed because of the sunscreen I

Holy Smokes! - this Glominerals sounds so intriguing!!! I think I'm going to have to try it....If Vivier is the Canadian distributor then I might be in luck since my neighbourhood spa carries Vivier....will definitely check this one out and post back!

Mabsy, I never even looked at the neutral shades, now they look great!! The warm ones are really gold, aren't they?

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. I really do like the look of the neutral ones. I'll have to see if I can find a salon that stocks Glominerals in Australia so I can actually have a look at the shades...

Since I've gotten a lot of my redness under control I'm wondering if Warm Silk might be too warm lately. I looked a wee bit orange today, I wonder if it's my sunscreen underneath or if it's just the nature of the shade. hmm. I just bought a new pan too! Mabsy, have you used Bisque? I've used Satin and it's too dark but have never tried the lightest neutral JI shade.

I'm happy with the Warm Silk but every so often I get the impression that it's just a tad too dark or too warm for me. I haven't tried the Bisque though. I keep wanting to but I won't order it until I can go and have a look in a salon and compare. It has the potential to be too light for me....

I couldn't decided whether to or the Bisque or Warm Silk this last time for those very reasons, Mabsy. The Warm Silk shade is not too light though so I'm thinking Bisque wouldn't be either? Just less yellow, I'm hoping.

I've ordered full sizes of Warm Silk and Satin loose and pressed, why stop there, I might as well order the Bisque while I'm at it! Laughing I can mix the two if Bisque is too light. I'll let you know how it works out. I'm not sure about the Glominerals either now. I have so many mineral pressed and loose powder foundations here to use up before I buy a liquid which I may not use. I will have to try samples first I think, getting pretty tired of ordering full sizes of expensive foundation just to try the colour out.

Interesting information on the Glominerals foundation. I've never tried it, but I do use the Glominerals bronzer and love it. It provides a perfect, natural glow.

rofl That's the spirit!

If I find myself at the shops on the weekend I'll make sure I have a look at the Bisque. I'll let you know...

Sorry everyone for turning this into a JI Pressed Bisque vs Warm Silk thread! I found a lady with a brand new compact (Bisque) to trade for my brand new Warm Silk. I have two new ones as one I ordered from the States hadn't shown up in 30 days so I ordered one from ESD. Well, on the 40 day mark, I got the other in the mail. The lady who wants to trade is in BC but is out of the province so we will trade around the middle of August. I will report back on this very important mission. Laughing Can't wait to hear if you got to try it yet Mabsy. Smile

Not yet Sad My house hunting experience put me off going shopping on the weekend (and turned me onto alcohol instead Laughing ). I'll try to get there next weekend. Will definitely report when I try it. Good luck with your swap!
