Hi Everyone,
I have this really really bad habit of picking at my skin sometimes. Like I'll feel like some blackheads on my cheek will come out so I "pinch" the area. It cleanses the skin but then I end up with this really really red spot (broken capillaries, red spots for a week). I KNOW this leads to scarring so I am doing a lot better about ceasing this bad habit.
In the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions about a product that helps to heal this redness and broken capillary problem? Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks! |

Hello Chunlisa!
I had quite a bad break out this summer after a 'week long' camping trip ( sufferings from too much sun exposures, mosquitoe bites and swimmer itch).
It was awful to see those red zits one by one growing bigger on my forehead ( where most of my zits occured) and around my nose and mouth ( where none existed before).
Magda suggested Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque and Soothing Booster to treat my blooming blemishes.
I used the masque only once, and I must tell you that was all I need to sooth my hurt skin right then. And the booster, I've been using it every night since then, on the remaining troubled spots. All the red bumps between my eyes and on my nose bridge and around my mouth were gone. Those bumps on my forehead are still there, but they are much smaller and not red any more. I think they are the stubborn so- called whiteheads that are always hard to deal with. I also started to use MD Formulations Vit-A Clearing Complex a week ago and I can see they are less noticeable.
I admit I still pick at my skin many times, too. It's a very bad habit, we all know. When I picked at the old and dry and almost healed ones I think I just helped speed up the 'process'. It was o.k. sometimes but most of the time they always come back for full vengeance:mad:. I used to use my Visine eyedrops to temporarily get rid of the redness but now every time I damage my own skin I always reach for Dermalogica Soothing Booster. And stop picking, you are right, it's a must!!!
Hope this little post can help you in some way :P:P:P |

Thanks so much Leiladao! I will try your recommendations (although the best would be to STOP picking ha ha ha).
Thanks again for your help! |

I confess: I'm a picker too (though this excludes my nose ), and often have to counteract the red inflammation that I've caused. A good, soothing creme such as Decleor's Essential Harmony helps soothe the redness, and I also find that it helps when I wax my upper lip. |
