Hi!
I wonder if anyone have a good suggestion of what to use on my very dry, flaking lower legs?

I tried acidpeeling on them, but i think i need to be careful with that,as i have spider veins.
I used to use some type of oilscrub that worked for me years ago.It contained some kind of salt that did the peeling, but at the same time skin got really moisturized by the oil.Very good product.
But the same problem now,my spider veins don`t like hard treatments.. Confused

Zenia - years ago I had this issue, would stay awake at night scratching my legs, no amount of lotion helped. Then I began taking flaxseed oil which cleared up the dryness. Now I simply throw either milled flaxseed or chia seeds or hemp seeds into my morning green smoothie - and take cod liver oil in winter months. Are you getting enough essential oils in your diet?

I just use a mesh sponge with my bath gel to exfoliate the dead skin cells. Works like a charm. Here's a picture if you don't know what I'm talking about.

When I lived up north my legs would get super dry and flaky in the in the winter time. I would use AHA body lotion (Paula's Choice) and then a moisturizing lotion on top of that. It made a big difference.

I also like using a oily sugar scrub.

I put olive oil on last night after my bath. That might help.

Zenia,

I used coconut oil on my legs when they were super dry and itchy. I no longer have that problem.

I've been using Amlactin (which contains 12% lactic acid) and am very happy with the results. Several people swore by it on another post (sorry, can't remember which one). I am on my second bottle and got it at CVS.

I use coconut oil, too. It is great, absorbs very easily. I break out from every kinds of body lotion, but coconut oil never causes any problem.

Zenia,

I am sure you can buy coconut oil in Norway. Even in Hungary I could find some, and it is very cheap, like 3 euros. It is white stuff, thick like lard, you'd better buy one in a jar, that you can get it out with your fingers. Mine is in a bottle, and hard to get it out, because I do not want to heat it, so I get it out with a long spoon.
