Nothing can get rid of them except for cosmetic surgery...in other words..get them zapped...some lasers cause bruising..but it lasts about a week from what i hear...ipl is a pulse light that takes a series of treatments..and they just dry up and diminish...I dont think ipl works that great though...sometimes pain and bruising actually gives better results...that sounds horrible:/ |

Dr Irena Eris (available at EDS, see links below) does a line for broken capillaries. I remember a good review lately if you have a search. |

Isn't Dr H rhythmic night conditioner supposed to help with cappilaries too? I think I remember reading that in their literature. Hopefully someone more knowledgable can chime in. |

Y’all should know by now how totally in to “natural” skin care remedies I am based on all of the experiments and recipes I’ve posted under the DIY sticky thread, so it should come as no surprise that the items I’m going to recommend for broken caps are items that you can make yourself at home!
There are actually a number of essential oils that can help reduce the appearance of broken caps (nothing will wipe them out completely, save the laser surgery mentioned by PurpleTurtle). I’ve actually seen some results myself with using these EOs on a couple of broken caps that I have on my nostrils (from blowing my snoot too hard during allergy season, which actually lasts from January - December here in TX!).
Here are the EOs that can help:

If you’d like to read more about the various EOs and their uses in skincare, follow this link: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=5922&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
I simply added a few drops of lemon, geranium and cypress essential oils (because those specific EOs are also good at helping to regulate the oily-skin factory on my face) to my homemade ACV toner. In addition, I added a couple of drops of peppermint EO to my homemade honey and aspirin mask, and added a couple drops of chamomile and lemon EO to my homemade Dr. H Cleansing Cream. I *am* seeing some reduction in the intensity of the redness of the broken caps, although I’ve only actually been using this particular EO “blend” in my ACV toner and stuff for the past 12 days....
If it’s too much trouble for you to make up your own batch of ACV toner, aspirin mask or DHCC, then you can always add one drop of any three EOs listed above to a bit of jojoba oil or even your fave moisturizer, making sure to blend the EOs into your moisturizer/oil well, then spread it evenly across your face, or concentrate on only those areas where you have broken caps....
HTH,
Carrie |
