hi everyone, so my skin is very dehydrated and my pores seem very clogged. i'm 19, and ive always had nice skin, but i used an aspirin mask with some apple cider vinegar a month ago and dehydrated my skin. I compensated by using harsh scrubs, and my skin just went crazy.
So right now my skin is very dry and dehydrated. some of the things i have are,
clarisonic
retin-a 0.01%
Alba botanica enzyme peel
Clinique dramatically different lotion
clinique moisture surge
bio oil
organic shea butter
aloe plant
neutrogena 3 in 1 hydrating salicylic treatment.
Can you please help me find a way to re-hydrate, i would appreciate any advice. thank you. |

I completed dehydrated my skin at one point not too long ago, which did cause clogged pores and blackheads. Ugh!! I finally went to an esthetician that I trust and got a facial designed for my particular needs. She dwouid a lot of extractions which really helped my skin and got me back on track.
If possible, I would recommend a professional facial.
ETA: I meant did instead of "dwouid"-- don't know where that came from. |

You mentioned you had nice skin. Go back to whatever routine you had before seems like a good idea? |

And didn't you just recently do a microdermabrasion treatment?
It would really help if you could keep everything on one thread....that way people can read the whole story (including your initial issue that caused the pigmented areas) and give you the BEST advice.
Unfortunately, by starting a new thread with every question people are giving you advice based on just a small part of the picture, and the advice may not be appropriate.
My personal advice at this point: You have really compromised your skin barrier due to the various abrasive treatments you have done. I would purchase the product below that will specifically help rebuild the skin barrier with ceramides, and use nothing but that until your skin heals.
SAS Every Lipid Serum:

OR you could go with the Nia24 line which will help rebuild the skin barrier and work on some of your pigmentation at the same time. However it is not as cheap.

I would suggest waiting on any LAA vitamin serums which are acidic until after your skin regains some normalcy. I would stick to a ph balanced cleanser and Bethany gave you excellent recommendations above for treatments to use daily. Sometimes less really is more, let your skin heal. |

No no no no... no more exfoliating and irritating for now!
You REALLY need to give your skin a rest and let it heal.
There will not be a "one day" solution. It will probably take at least 2 weeks for your skin to look better.
You need to apply anything that will help the skin heal. Bethany gave great recommendations. You might also want to try jojoba oil.
Even cetaphil would work.
Just don't do anything harsh for at least a month. |
