Do any of you receive the Bliss Catalog? It has soooo many of the products that we talk about here - (it's like they've read all of our posts! ) but also their own "Bliss" line of products? I got this in the mail on Friday. There's def. no discount on items in it, but I'm wondering who I ordered from in the past that would have put me on the mailing list.
They have footwear in there by MBT (I believe it's a Swiss line) - they look terrific, but a tad expensive to say the least! I have flat feet and I am always looking for a good support sneaker - but according to the mag. these sneakers not only support but tone your legs better than any other sneaker, better your balance, improve posture, help varicose veins, and get rid of celluite!!! Now if they'd clean my kitchen, I'd order straight away! Anyone own a pair?

I posted a thread on MBTs a while ago as they were all the rage in the UK last year. I considered getting a pair but they are just so ugly that I couldn't bring myself to wear a pair. If only they could make them a bit more feminine and less clumpy looking.

Hi there! I get the Bliss catalog and have yet to order anything from it....Some of the stuff sounds wonderful, but most of the brands I am unfamiliar with. Hate to spend the $$ without knowing ingredients and hearing from others. (And some of the prices are steep).
The sneakers are interesting, huh? Too expensive for me to "try" and not get results right now. Prevention (or maybe Health magazine?? Sorry, I forget which!) mentioned them with less than stellar reviews. However, The Today show on NBC also spotlighted them awhile back and said they were all the latest rage with celebs and models.
Not much help, sorry. If you decide to try please please post reviews!
Have you purchased with Bliss before? Just wondering how they are to deal with. Right now they are offering a box of samples with any order. They have an eyelash growth/strengthener I think I may try. It's inexpensive enough and I figure I can try some samples of their other products. |

I've been tempted to buy a pair of MBTs since way back but there is no place in Australia that actually stocks them (AFAIK). So, that means that I can't try them on and I also can't see them in person. I couldn't find any pairs that I liked when I was looking online - these are definitely the type of shoe that I would have to SEE to make a decision about, especially at that price! |

i would love to try these sneakers! but i need to hear some feedback from someone before i spend the money! and i agree, they are a little bit chunky for my personal style but the benefits they supposedly give is better reasing TO buy them rather than NOT! |

I have some MBT's. They are SOOO ugly! I am already tall (5'10), but these shoes come with a massive wedge that makes me about 4 inches taller. They remind me of those shoes the spice girls wore!
I don't wear them enough to know if they have any effect. I bought them online. I though I would wear them... But I guess not... |

We did have a post on mbt's awhile back....
I have a pair and not only are they ugly as can be but they're HEAVY. When I first got them, I tried to wear them to run in and almost broke my neck !!!
I do wear them for longggg daily walks to exercise my dogs and they really are great. I have excellent posture (years of dance training, sports, etc.), but even so, I think these are corrective. They definitely give your legs a workout. I also have a tendency to develop lower back pain when I'm stressed, but since I've been walking in these, I haven't had any problem at all.
They're awfully expensive, though. You can usually pick up a pair for alot less on eBay. |

I would recommend trying them on first as they need to be a perfect fit.
Mabsy - I did buy them from Australia. A small office in Chatswood. I'm trying to google the address but can't find it.
They were good as they gave a free lesson at Darling Harbour on how to walk in them. |

I have a pair, and while not even a mother could love how they look, I adore them. I bought the black ones, to not draw too much attention to them.
Anyway, I use them when I run (takes a bit of practice) when I take long walks or when I work out (mind your balance though, these suckers are tricky to do some exercises in). I´ve had quite a bit of toning effect on my legs, but my legs weren´t all that great to begin with. I´ve also improved my posture alot, and started walking straighter and taller. (Not that I needed that at 5´10, but still.)
I would recommend trying them on before you buy, because getting a good fit is crucial. |

I've also been thinking about getting a pair of these, but yes being vain put me off. Athough I saw a black pair recently in a mag that actually looked half okay. Everyone I have asked about them has said that they're excellent and really do work.... so I'm tempted.
I think you only have to wear them for a couple of hours a day anyway, so I suppose you could just wear them around the house. |

Wow Sharkbait! I'm in awe that you can run in them. I honestly tried. My bf almost passed out from laughing!!! After a few tries, I went back to my trusty Saucony running shoes! I love walking in them though. |

I *love* my MBT's! I first heard about them on a Zappo's shoe digest last year. Many people with lower back pain or just painful feet after walking long distances were recommended these by podiatrists.
I can't post the website but if you do a search you can find the url for the United States site. I used that and located a nearby store that carries them. Mine were at a Footwear, Etc. store.
I was encouraged to walk inside and outside the store. While there, another lady came in asking about them. Her podiatrist recommended them.
I have the sandals and wore them in Spain last year. We walked over 5 miles a day and I was the only female who wasn't complaining about her feet.
Pros:
No more foot pain after long walks.
Love the thick platforms (adds height to my petite frame).
Cons:
Leg muscles will be sore in the beginning because you are working them harder trying to balance.
Not great for older people because they are easy to fall.
Difficult to stand still ... I end up rocking. |

Thank you Emma! I'll have to check them out next time I'm in Syd. If you ever find the website (if they have one) then please let me know. |

Y\That is great.
These shoes are absolutely crucial to have fitted by a "proper" person.
The toes have to be right up to the end of the shoe but not cramped obviously.
Glad I was a help.

Haha, these conflicting quotes crack em up:

But I'm REALLY glad I read them, because I've thought about getting these shoes for ages but wasn't sure they were worth the money. I'm 5'11" and definitely not in need of being that much taller, but all the benefits seem so great... I may try them on in the store and then take a glance at eBay to actually purchase, thanks to whoever recommended that! I did that with my Danskos and saved 50%.
However, I don't love the Spice Girl look, and there really isn't a single pair I find super-attractive on the website. I wonder if people who have them could possibly post pics wearing them? I think it might help to see "real life" pictures. Don't bother if that's a tall order, I just thought it might help some of us out as we debate whether we want silly feet in exchange for better legs and posture! |

I have had my MBTs for ~2years (same pair) and LOVE them! I agree with Rjez that you find yourself rocking in them, which isn't a bad thing - it helps the circulation. I am tiny, so I sure don't mind the added height, and they aren't that heavy IMO. I am a nurse and running, standing, walking, & climbing stairs are all in a day's work - I really enjoy my MBTs in all those activities. You really have to learn to balance in them, so I think they help tone the core muscles too. No twisted ankles though, as you might expect in a wedge, I found them perfectly safe. I will say, the DVD provided shows you how silly you can look doing the "rolling" walk! When this pair wears out I'll def buy another higher pair of MBTs - the athletic version has an even higher wedge. Way worth the price IMO, but will check eBay now that I know my size - good idea, guys! |
