I am an Af-Am woman and I use Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid 10% Clarifying Gel (2 oz). Around my mouth, nose, and neck the skin is darkening and extremely dry, does anyone else experience that? Can anyone suggest a cure? Thanks. |

I am not sure about the darkening but AHAs tend to be drying so it sounds like you might be overdoing using the clarifying gel. How often do you use it? |

Well it comes in a pump so I pump some on the back of my hand and I rub in an upward fashion all over my face and neck. So you think that it may be the clarifying gel? I was told to use it every other day for 2 weeks, should I be using it less? |

Well, that would be fine for my skin. In fact I am using a BHA/AHA serum twice daily at the moment with no problems. BUT AHAs in general are drying so it is possible that the dryness you're experiencing is from the AHAs, particularly if you have sensitive skin. Are you using a moisturiser over the top? |

Well I wash my face with the facial wash that contains 2% Glycolic Acid and then the gel which contains 10% Glycolic Acid. Should I be using something after the gel? |

What type of skin do you have? My skin is normal (sometimes combination) and I cannot imagine not putting moisturiser (and sunblock) when I use AHAs. |

Crstyle, I would watch your shop at home and purchase the Elizabeth Grant serums. These are SUPER for moisturization and will REALLY bring your skin back to life. Skin NEEDS moisture for it to look good. |

I have oily skin--sometimes combination. Sice using the glycolic wash and gel, my skin does not feel oily, but sometimes looks it.
Thanks Susie Q I am going to search her products on the internet. One question is it ok to use with glycolic acid? |

Yes crstyle, you can use the EG serums with other skin care. With the glycolic acid though, in what form? A cream, a peel, a serum?? |
