Hi, I have generally acne prone skin. and before using the new products, my skin was already spotted with pimples.
However, after introducing a vitamin c serum 10 from skinceuticals, i notice a little more blotchiness.
Is this just an initial reaction? It is not a huge breakout whatsoever. So is this fine? It is now starting to calm down I think. |

your skin might just not be used to the extra layer of coverage that the serum 10 gives.
do you also use makeups or sunscreen on top of a moisturiser?
perhaps try it for a month or two, as skin renewal cycles are generally 3 months. but if it's getting worse it may be that the product is too clogging for your pores.
i have tried the serum 20 on my chest, arms, and back (which is quite prone to breakouts), and they don't seem to be any worse. but from all the comments about SC vitamin c serums, and looking at the ingredients, they seem to not be a big culprit of any breakouts.
perhaps you can just use it every other day at first?
hope it works for you, it's good to start using correcting products for prevention rather than cure! |

tynkerbell,
You just ordered this last week right? I think it is just a normal breakout/reaction from changing products. Let your skin calm down from introducing the c serum before you add more of the things you just got. Maybe next try the microfoliant. It could take a while to use the whole new routine. Recently I changed things up quite a bit and it took 2 weeks for my skin to stop reacting. Now, (3 weeks later) I am starting to look normal again. In one more week, I think I will be completely back to normal. |

Yayy! Thanks alot (:
Recently, my sister went to a skin doctor, and the doctor had prescribed her an antibacterial wash, benxoyl peroxide and another topical cream for her acne. Well, i am pretty much hesistant about all these "doctor" stuff to heal post acne marks and pimples, so I decided to introduce the vit c serum.
But apparently, the doctor told my mom that vitamin c is at most used for wrinkles and anti-aging? :s I don't really need that now as i'm only a teen! Lol, should I still continue then what benefits will it bring in the long run??

You will have long term benefits with continued use. It is an anti-oxidant that helps to protect your skin from UV, smoke, pollution, etc. Many of us do use it to repair, but I only wish I had started with prevention at your age! It won't harm you at all, in my opinion |
