Hi Sarah!
What sort of Dr H products have you used? Was it the cleansing cream?
And do you use any make up during the day too?
Perhaps you could look at trying some sort of clay mask to help remove any build up in your pores, and also a gentle exfoliant to help renew your skin.
I have heard that French pink argyle clay is very good for nourishing dry skin. So you could try mixing 1 tsp with some water/hydrosol and a few drops of plant oil.
Epidermx is a very good exfoliant for dry skin I think, because the base is rich in moisture (like shea butter, oils).
Hope this helps |

I'd recommend Skinbio's P&R Classic and emu oil - both very gentle and healing. Recommended for irritated skin and eczma and many other skin complaints
take a look -www.skinbio.com |

Thanks for the advice, i have tried the Dr H cleansing cream and rose moisturiser but the rose was a little heavy and the cleansing cream just made my face feel irritated and not really 'clean'.
I do wear makeup 6 days a week - chanel or lancome foundation sparingly with chanel powder on top. I use it only over eye area, nose and blotchy patches on my cheeks. I am sure it is doing no good but i need to look presentable for work!
I like the sound of the french clay! and will have to have to try the skinbio as I have never heard of that line before.
thank you both !!

Hi Sarah!
How about trying a facial steam then a hydrating mask which you could follow up with a light, moisture retaining cream. The steaming would loosen your clogged pores while a hydrating mask will give your skin a good dose of moisturing that is sounds like you may need.
You can easily steam your face by running some warm to hot water in your sink, then cover your head with a towell while your skin soaks up the steam. Use a scrub or toner to cleanse then apply a hydrating mask.
Here's an educational resource on skin care you might find helpful as well: www.skincareresourcecenter.com/facial-skin-care.html . Finish off with a nice, rich hydrating moisturizer perhaps with a vitamin C or DMAE ingredient.
Hope that strategy helps! |
