I have clogged up pores, however my skin is not oily. Would getting a microdermabrasion be the best solution for sucking all the gunk outta my pores?
currently im using Dr. H CC |

How long have you been using the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream and how are you using it? I would actually say that what you're already using is a fantastic way of cleaning out the pores. I used the Dr H CC twice daily for two weeks (with the proper "pressing/kneading" technique) and saw great results.
My only experience with microdermabrasion is using Epidermx once (and incorrectly at that!) so I can't comment on that. |

well ive been using the Dr. H CC for about a week now. I hope i have the pressing and kneading technique right, im pretty sure i do. I dont have oily skin so im scared to use the clay mask in case it's over-drying. |

Hi BC Girl,
Try to stick with the Dr. H CC for a few weeks...it's a strange texture...when I first started using it, it felt to me like something that would clog my pores....on the contrary...I'd be lost without this stuff...I use it every day. For skin polishing and to keep the cells from building up (and interrupting the work of the Dr. H) - I use Dermalogica Microfoliant....I am 40, not oily, and have no problem at all with this partnership of products....I use the Derm MF followed by a warm face cloth, then the Dr. H CC....I am thrilled beyond words with the results - I used to have what I thought were permanent tiny black dots on my nose and around the cheek area closest to the nose - but not anymore....I'm thrilled with the results! OH yes, and the Derm MF comes in a whopper of a container that lasts and lasts and lasts!

Try the homemade aspirin mask to unclog gunk from pores. You can find the recipe for the aspirin mask in the “~~~ DIY Skincare Recipes ~~~” sticky-thread in the Skincare Forum, or I posted a brief overview on it at this link yesterday: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=7433&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
It’s cheap and it works, what more can you ask for?! |

hey BCgirl
I find that if I use a dilution of 1tsp water and 1tsp clay, is quite a light and gentle mask for cleansing my pores.
If you keep the clay mask wet, like do it on a wet face, and keeping it moist throughout for 5-10 mins, it still works to pull gunk out, but doesnt dry the skin. |

I would second the BHA/salicylic acid/aspirin mask suggestions. These acids are oil-soluble so penetrate the pore to soften the gunk. |

Dermalogica daily microfoliant & Bioelements quick refiner are great for clearing up pores. You can check threads on the Microfoliant on this forum- it's a favorite among members, and I think the quick refiner is great- it's a long-lasting product, 3oz will last you a looong time, and the consistency is like a clear gel...very refreshing. Maybe if you start with the Microfoliant, you can ask for a sample of the quick refiner? |

My doctor wanted to put me on accutane and I said no. I told him with technology today their has to be somthing better than accutane. (I'm afraid of the side effects)
He gave me Vitamin A acid 0.5%. You put it on a clean face and leave it on for 3 to 4 hours. It makes your face hot and make you sweat which unclogges your pores. Then you wash it off. You have to use a strong sunblock to protect your skin because Vitamin A acid makes you sensative to the sun.
I hope this info helps.
Did or does anybody ever used Valmont skincare products? I'm looking for a product that heals the skin instead of using prescription anti-biotic(sorry wrong spelling)with lotion. |

For healing skin, I really recommend buying an Aloe Vera plant and rubbing the fresh gel in your face. Vitamin E oil is very healing too, but Aloe (has to be fresh from the plant) is more healing and good for oily skin. |
