I don't know when or why I have this skin problem. I'm very self-conscious because of such problem. Therefore, I haven't consulted with anyone about it yet.

Is there a way to get rid of the white linings on my skin?

Here's an image.

Are the white linings stretch marks?? If so, they are totally normal. Most people get them during puberty, pregnency or after rapid weight gain. I have a few on my hips. I'm not sure of how to get rid of them though, if that's what it is. I think there are kinds of laser treatment that are supposed to help but they're are quite expensive. For me, mine have faded over time so I don't worry too much about it.

These look just like stretch marks. Have you grown a lot in a very short space of time? Or have you gained weight through pregnancy or seasonal weight fluctuation?? Some people say vitamin e is good to help them fade. Some say a cream by Kosmea is brilliant. There are so many treatments out there to help reduce the marks. If you are still fairly young it's sometimes possible for them to fade quite significantly with some sort of treatment. The older and longer you have them without treatment the more permanent and pronounced they are. I would suggest though, you speak to a pharmacist or your doctor.
Good luck. Smile

Indeed these look like stretch marks - so don't worry, nothing abnormal, quite common actually. Some oils are supposed to help fade these and there are many creams as well (I've heard of Alphaderma being used on them but not sure how effective it is). Bio Oil is also used on these although, again, I'm not sure how effective it is. You get these from rapid flactuations in weight but can also get them from just growth spurts. A family friend has a 17yr old daughter who has these even though she's really fit and in a normal weight range.

Thanks a lot! Yes, they are indeed stretch marks.

No, I have been the same weight range over the past six years (110-125 lbs.), never over weight. I noticed I have these stretch marks when I was 14yo, but I didn't do anything or told anyone about them due to self-consciousness. I'm 19 now, but I have never had any treatment because I didn't know what those marks on my hips were. Due to self-consciousness, I haven't yet consulted any derma, either -- something I regret.

Reading that really scares me. I wish I knew about this site sooner, much sooner.

I've seen stretch marks develop when someone has a quick growth spurt...maybe that is the cause? I wouldn't be too self conscious about them...I'm sure they appear to be much worse to you than others!

those are definately stretch marks. Dont worry most ppl have them. I have them, and im not a big person at all 110-115 lbs but i have them on my breasts and inner thigh and faint ones on my butt. I hate them, ive tried cocoa butter, vichy strech mark cream and biotherm....none works. I dont think there is a cure for stretch marks other than laser. Stretch marks happen when you have a growth spurt, pregnancy, weight gain/weight loss, developing muscles etc. It's the stretching of the skin. To prevent stretch marks you should moisturize your whole body....stretch marks are a cause of dry skin expanding.

It's ok Tracy, you sound like you are still young, so don't worry about the comment I made re the age of them and pronouciation of them. They will probably fade quite significantly with the right product Smile. Stretch marks are a normal part of life, so chin up. hugssss Most of us have them, yes, men included. Looks like you did have a rather quick growth spurt in a short period of time. It's good you know now, so that you can do something about it.

^ Thanks a lot!

I'm planning on trying TriLASTIN. Does anyone know whether that product is reliable or not?
