Shock Mad Mad Shock
I just read on EDS while looking for Skinceuticals products: "We do not ship/sell Skinceuticals products outside of North America."

What?????

Why?????

When did this happen?

So is there any other good online stores I could get these products from?

Just read through the shipping information at arivaskincare. 3-4 weeks delivery Shock Shock Well, I guess it's better than not getting any products at all. Laughing

You're welcome Snoops. I'm glad that they ship internationally. That shipping time is terrible though. Maybe someone else will have a suggestion of a company that doesn't take as long. Better than nothing as you said, but that is a long time if you are low on or out of something.

Skinceuticals seem to have some sort of territorial distribution thing going.

And poor me in NZ, the skinceuticals distributors are terrible. We don't even have a website to order from. And the range is carried by some laser specialist company. I emailed them about samples and pricing, and man they have a very unprofessional service. THe guy I finally managed to get a hold of didn't even show up to bring me samples at the arranged time.

Ladies, we've talked about this before, but I'll say it again. If you keep publically posting the companies who will ship overseas (but are not allowed to) you might soon find that you yourself will not be able to order from them because they will not be allowed to sell the product anymore. The restrictions are placed by the company distributing the products because retailers in some countries cannot sell the products at the markups they require to make money and they started complaining about this. The penalty for distribution outside the designated area can be loss of license to sell the entire line full stop in some cases.

I have bought from quite a few sites who say that they don't ship a particular product overseas and they have shipped it anyway. I am not going to post who they are because I do not wish for them to get in trouble. From my experience, it is not unusual for this to happen especially if you have bought the line from the place before. If you are an established customer of wherever you buy your skincare from then I would contact them and see what they say. Either way, whoever you contact, do not post it here or anywhere else publically.

From now on all such posts here will be deleted by me regardless of what company is mentioned. If you want to answer someones question then do it privately. Thank you.

Mabsy: Sorry, I didn't realize. I missed that discussion somewhere. Should I edit out the site name?

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across nasty about this and I wasn't trying to target specific EDS members. I just want to make sure that we all understand why it's better not to advertise such things and I don't want to start a separate thread about it here. Ideally, I'd still like to make sure that we are actually able to order JI or Bare Minerals or Skinceuticals etc from online places some time from now. It only takes a few online stores to be penalised and others will not be willing to take the risk anymore to send outside of USA. This is why I think it's best we don't have any "X says they can't post to Y but I know that they do" type of discussions, at least not in 'public'.

Marella - I don't think the site you posted actually has those explicit shipping restrictions stated Smile

Actually, while I remember, there are services that give you a US based address and forward your parcel to you (and can arrange payment if the company takes only US credit cards). This works very well especially when you can take advantage of the "free shipping within USA" deals that some places have. I used to order from Sephora like that. I have an account with ShopTheStates http://shopthestates.com/ and pay them to send my parcels on to me in Australia. The postage is not inflated either but there is a $4.95 handling fee per parcel. In many cases this is a better option than selecting "overseas postage" on sites that charge ridiculous amounts to send overseas.

So, if there is something you desperately want from the US but don't have anyone who you can send it to then this is a good service to look into. I think it was actually started by Australians (now based in the US I think) who were sick and tired of not being able to buy stuff from the US online.

I'm sorry, Mabsy, I didn't know about this. Haven't been on here for some time now, so I must have missed that discussion.

It's just that I get so upset when I read "don't ship outside of the US" or "don't ship outside of North America". Here in Norway, we have a very limited amount of brands, so the only possible way for me to get them is to order them online. I have wanted to buy Yonka and Jan Marini products for ages, and have not been able to. And when I've finally found I line that I like, I won't be able to get that either. If you live in the US, you should be able to get almost anything (with no need to get them online).

Well anyway, thanks for letting us know. Don't want those companies that ship even though they're not allowed to to get into trouble.

And thank you so much for that ShopTheStates link. Will definitely look into it.

Trust me, I know exactly how you feel Sad I'm in Australia and have not seen YonKa or Jan Marini here at all. I've seen Skinceuticals but at 100% markups to what I would pay online.

Wow, now that’s positively ingenious! How come I can’t brainstorm an idea like that and make a fortune so I can retire from my evil drudgery and begin spending my days doing something truly important, like searching for my next “holy grail” lip balm or figure out the ingredients for my own plumping lip gloss....Actually, I guess I *did* have a pretty good lip plumping brainstorm – it’s just too bad I can’t patent the idea!!
