Hi all,

I found that a lot of value kits do not have toner included. Is toner not important at all? What are the benefits of toner? Can toner be applied to face with bare hands (instead of cotton pads)?

Thanks.

As for whether or not you need to apply toner with a cotton pad, I know that some members spritz toner directly onto their face, but I wouldn’t apply it with bare hands because you run the risk of transferring the dirt and oil you just washed off of your face back on to your skin by touching it with your fingers. Like they tell people who suffer from acne never ever to touch their face with their hands during the day because it transfers all kinds of dirt, oil and germs onto your face...? If you *must* use your fingers to apply any product to your face, make darn sure that your hands are completely clean before touching your skin!

HTH,
Carrie

I never used to use Toner until I started the Dr Hauschka regime and now I could not live without it!
I find I don't get oily outbreaks during the day like I used to, it seems to close my pores after I have cleansed and provides a nice surface for my moisturiser. In the evenings I only cleanse and tone and have stopped using a night cream, my skin looks a lot more healthy and polished than it used to. It used to look dull in comparison.
I like Apple Cider Vinegar Toner for the evening and a mixture of Witch Hazel and Rose Water for the daytime.

i find that toner is a really nice addition to any cleansing regime.

as for how to apply, i tend to figure hands are fine because, if you've just washing your face, presumably (or at least in most cases) we all use our hands to some extent, so your hands should be as clean as your face. and i just always make sure to wash my hands clean w. some soap before washing my face with cleanser.

the action of patting in toner (i find) is very relaxing...i use pure rose hydrosol and getting to smell a bit of rose on my hands for a short time after my cleansing ritual.

You've hit the nail on the head: so long as your hands are completely clean, applying the toner with your fingers shouldn't be a problem....
