I was tired of using Dermalogica all the time, and since my skin seems to love Dr. H's rose cream, I also purchased the cleansing cream and the tonic for normal/dry skin. But do you people also use a separate make-up remover, or does the cleansing cream take off all foundation, concealer and powder? (I'm not talking here about eye-makeup, as I'm using a separate remover for wp mascara)? |

Hi Nemi, I found that I had to remove my make-up first then use the Dr H CC I use Jojoba oil first to remove all my make-up then cleanse with the Dr Hauschka. I also find it works better if I leave it on my face for about 3 mins after the press and roll method for a really deep cleanse.
The homemade version of the Dr Hauschka however removes all make-up and cleanses at the same time |

Thanks, Rosebud Seems I have to get some jojoba oil next time I visit the health food store. It's not very greasy, right? |

You should use a separate cleanser before you use the Cleansing Cream at night. I don't use a separate cleanser in the morning though. This is still my fave cleanser - I hope it works well for you! |

Which cleanser do you use, then? I'm a bit sceptical about the Dr H cleansing milk, as it is supposed to leave a film and not cleanser particularly well....Maybe stick with the boring ol' Ultracalming? (I think I want something else, although I just bought a new big bottle of it).
Maybe this is the time to test a cleansing oil? |

I think Dr H cleansing milk is much more 'oily' than the CC, so may not be the perfect cleanser for removing makeup.
I'd personally use a gel or more penetrating cleanser if I have been using makeup. But you could also try using the pure oils to see how wel your skin likes them. |

I personally LOVE Fresh Farmacy soap by Lush. After eye makeup remover, it's my second cleansing step at the end of the day. I can feel how clean my skin becomes afterwards, it really takes off any oil and makeup.
It can be a bit drying, so I follow up with Lush Angels on Bare Skin or Dr. H Cleansing Cream (now that I've started using Dr. H). I think Lush AoBS is very similar to Dr. H CC. I like them both and don't think I'll give either one up, I'll just alternate them.
I end up with very clean but moisturized skin. Not a one step solution though... |

Use a make-up remover or cleanser to remove makeup because the Dr. H CC is more an exfoilator. |

I use the Dr. H cleansing milk to remove my makeup -- it works ok. |

The purist in me wants to try the cleansing milk, but then again... |

At the moment I alternate between the Cellcosmet and PSF cream cleansers (I'm not using my Dr H CC at the moment though). I used to use the Dr H cleansing lotion but have also used the CC with all sorts of other cleansers. If you prefer a more squeaky clean feel then you're better off sticking with your current cleanser than trying the oil or the Dr H cleansing lotion. |

Thanks, Mabsy! I'm definitely not one for the squeaky clean-feeling; my skin is slightly dry, so I might experiment a bit with different cleansers. But I'll probably end up with the Dr H anyway. |
