Hi,I'm using a liquid foundation which has no paraben kinds like(Methyl paraben, Propyl paraben, and etc). It feels great on my skin and finishes very natural. I've been also looking for a loose foundation quite for a while, but no luck. I want to use a loose powder kind especially in the humid and hot weather. I just read an articl about the Methyl Paraben that cuases more sun spots and damages the skin under the sun. It's scarly. So, I'm gonna stick with the foundation I use, but does anybody give me an info of loose foundation would be great. Does anyone tried Dr.H's foundation?

Thank you.

If you want the purest most organic make-up, check;

I like the loose powder from Earths Beauty

Dr. H makes a loose powder, but it's translucent...

I personally have switched over all my foundation to Jane Iredale...the pressed powder is fantastic...it's not organic, but it's a good "comprimise" of what's natural AND works excellent.

Good luck Very Happy

As a matter of fact, I just started using a powder foundation by Aubrey Organics. I really love it! No shine at all with a whole day's wear. It is translucent and perfect for someone with fair/light skin. The ingredients are: silk powder, cinnamon powder, aloe vera, henna, allantoin, comfrey root, and natural flower oil. I found two natural cosmetics web-sites www.allnaturalcosmetics.com andwww.holisticbeauty.net. I have gotten lots of samples of both skincare and makeup. Living Naure makes good lipsticks (you know you basically eat all your lipstick). Let me know what you think. HTH

I'm a medium color skin. What you use in Aubrey Organics is called tone face powder? There are 3 kinds in the picture. Could you just explain how to use them all?

Actually, what I use is called "Natural Translucent Base". It goes on like a loose powder. I use a puff like I use with any loose powder and finish with a brush. It has a great finish and color. The allnaturalcosmetics site will send you a sample for a fee. You can see if it is too light for your skin.

I'm not sure what those tone face powders are. Which site did you find those on?

Hi, Kylala,
I was looking at http://www.holisticbeauty.net./index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=204 and went to the link says face powders.I don't see the product you mentioned and I could not find Aubrey in allnaturalcosmetics site (powder section). Are they out of stock?

Sorry, I just found the product on the both sites. Since it's translucent, I wonder if it may be too light for me. but I would order a sample and see how it works for me.I'd also order somple of earth's beauty powder as well. Kylala, happyhippie, thank you for a great info.

hi, happyhippie,

do you know if JI's pewder contains any Methyl paraben? Many people in this forum seem to like the product, but I'm afraid of using any product which has paraben.

I love the aubrey organics foundation kit too! I think it's called silken earth, and you can mix all the colors to make one that suits you. This is by far the PUREST foundation I have found. I also use the Dr. Hauschka liquid foundation. I LOVE their loose powder, but it doesn't provide all that much coverage if that is what you are looking for. As a previous poster said, it is translucent.

For the record, here are the ingredients of both the Jane Iredale Pressed Powder foundation (what I use and love!!) and the JI Loose Powder Foundation:

Jane Iredale Pressed Powder Product Info:
-----------------------------------------------

• Micronized mineral bases are four products in one: foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen, and will disguise almost any skin discoloration.

• Description: Formulated with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, the minerals give instant, broad-spectrum, chemical-free sun protection. They are also very water resistant.

• Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide

• Inactive Ingredients: Bismuth Oxychloride, Iron Oxides. May contain: Manganese Violet, Carmine, Mica.

Women with dryer skin types seem to prefer the loose powder formulation, while grease-monkeys like myself have better luck with the pressed version.

Personally, I believe that if you try one of these mineral foundations, you will be completely astonished by the difference in your skin both in terms of appearance and overall health! IMHO, making the switch from a traditional foundation loaded with chemicals and preservatives to a mineral based foundation is the best thing that a woman can do for herself....

Please do consider this route when cosidering all of the available options for yourself. If you’d like to try samples before you commit, you can order samples of both pressed and loose JI foundations fromwww.skin-etc.com for $3 each and a flat shipping rate of $5. This would give you the opportunity to try both formulations, pinpoint your exact color shade, and allow you to give the mineral makeup a “test drive” for a few days or a couple weeks to see how it works for you.

HTH,
Carrie

Here are the ingredients prom the JI pressed powder as written on the back of their packaging;

Active ingredients; Titanium oxide 14%, zinc oxide 3%
Ingredients; Mica, Bismuth oxychloride, dimethicone, boron nitrate, hydrated silica, stearic acid, pine bark extract, pomegranate extract
May contain; Iron oxides, ultramarines, carmine
(not tested on animals)

As Carecate recommended- get the samples! They last about a week and are great for travelling too! I know this powder seams to have alot more "stuff" in it when you compare it to the Earths Beauty powder...but the result is truely amazing. It's covering, yet looks natural, has SPF, works as a foundation and powder in one and is long-lasting/ water-resistant!

EARTHS BEAUTY loose powder;
CONTAINS: organic arrowroot powder and iron oxides from pure sources.

you can order samples from them too (I'd try soft sand or natural beige), these samples are very small though- not like the JI samples.

Good luck Very Happy

I use Sanders Perry, 100% natural, no chemical emulsifier nad no glycerin. The products are all hand made in Japanese Lab. You can take a look at their site @ http://www.i-healing.com. They will ship from Canada. I love their product, specially sunflower tissue oil with wheat germ that I massage all over my neck and face with.
