Hi guys. So yesterday i have finally bought something with vit c. I bought it at the bodyshop. This are the ingredients: cydomethicone, polysilicone-11, ascorbic acid, methyl methacrylate/glycol dimethacrrylate crosspolymer, bertholletia excelsa, ribes nigrum, tocopheryl acetate, citrus sinensis, citrus aurantium dulcis, maltodextrin, citric acid, disodium edta, propyl gallate, sodium metabisulfite.
The vit c is in capsules. there are 28 capsules.
Oh, can you use vit c at your chest area also?
Thanks anyway guys. |

Too bad it doesn't say "L-ascorbic acid"..Whenever I see that generic "ascorbic acid" it makes me wonder. Hopefully it is l-ascorbic acid and at least a 10% concentration. Otherwise, the ingredients look fine. Has vitamin E in it which is good. The silicones might make some react but not me personally. Nice that there is no water in it, too. |

FYI, Sodium Metabisulphite is photo fixer, chemical they use in photo developing (to fix the image on film and images printed on paper).
I know they add it in very small quantities to skincare and even food as a preservative. However, I would never buy anything with it, as it's basically a poison that's dangerous to even inhale.
Sorry, this is not about vitamin C, but wanted to mention this as I think it's important to know. At the very least avoid foods with Sodium Metabisulphite! (it also goes by a few other names, i.e.: Sodium Bisulphite, Disodium Disulphite) |

I bought Ascorbic Acid crystals from Puritan's Pride to make my own serum. I believe they work but will not be as effective as l-asorbic acid. |

Oh, thanks guys for the replies. Now i know a little more about it. Hmmm and pumake, i did not know that, thanks. But how do you know in which food sodium metabisulphite is ? Maybe i should then buy the vitaminn c skin boost from the bodyshop, and see if this has the same ingredient. Hee betterat40, i do not have any reaction from the silicones yet. But how do you know what the ingredients mean? I mean they are in english and i am dutch, so how do you guys know what the terms from the ingredients mean? Ok, bye, bye |

Pipilover, this ingridient should sound the same in Dutch (or at least very similar - it's a chemical formula name after all).
They put it in all kinds of pre-packaged foods, from cookies to mayonnaise. You just have to read the labels on what you buy. |
