I've been using samples of Epidermx and Silkia camelia oil (a total of 3 times so far, over 10 days).
Second time I used them I got slightly greasy skin the next day.
Third time it seems like it broke me out in tiny little white pimples (almost like a mild infection from too raw skin) and again - it felt greasy after the oil.
Anyone experienced this? Everyone seems to love these. I want to see if anyone's had a reaction like this.
I started using these and Dr. H's regimen at the same time. Need to figure out what's causing this, but it seems like Epidermx - just because skin got worse after 2nd and 3rd time I used it. |

Well, I haven't used these, but are you supposed to use it that often? Also, it seems like you have changed your routine really quickly... Perhaps stopping the Epidermx for the time being would be good. I would give your skin a few weeks to get used to just the Dr H stuff, and then try adding in the microdermabrasion, maybe once a week. Keep in mind that if you are using the Dr H cleansing cream, you are doing a lot of exfoliating. If you haven't been exfoliating and then do it everyday (sometimes twice with the Epidermx), it would make sense to me to experience a breakout.
Somethings to keep in mind...
When you change products, try to do it slowly, introducing 1 product at a time over longer period of time. This should minimize these types of breakouts and will allow you to know which product your skin is reacting badly too.
As well, when you do incorporate the Epidermx back into your routine, I wouldn't use the Dr H CC on the same day. Too much exfoliating.

According to the instructions taht came with the sample, it's ok to use it 2-3 times a week.
Is it typical to break out from Dr. H stuff? I've been using about 80% natural skincare before it, so it's not like my skin needs adjusting to natural ingridients after harsh chemicals.
I didn't realize the cleansing cream was that strong.

*chant* have to pace myself, have to pace myself
I know I need to simplify and streamline my routine. *sigh* I got over excited to find so many new things to try. |

I know, it is exciting to get new things and want to use them all at once. I have heard of quite a few people purging from Dr H stuff. That, combined with the microdermabrasion probably just over did with your skin. |

Faith,
how long is this purging supposed to last?
(I honestly don't think it's Dr. H, but Epidermx, so I just want to get the skin back to normal)
But if it's from Dr. H, I want to be emotionally ready
I'm going on vacation in a few days and I want to be all looking good for it! |

I am not really sure... I will let someone else answer that. My guess would be a week or 2. |

I also got a reaction to the epidermx the day after I used it, and I didnt have any camilia or silika oil. I got red bumps, sort of like pimples, but weren't quite the same. They went away eventually, and I was only using the epidermx once a week. I haven't tried the Dr H yet (thats in my coming order), so it couldnt have been that either.
I dont use it anymore as I traced my skins reaction to the epidermx and its not worth it for me, I must be allergic. Having said that, I did love the smoothness of my skin, it was a little addictive!! |

Nicky,
I got it from goldportbeauty.com, I saw it mentioned a lot here.
I'm in Canada and they only charged $3 for the shipping, and sent a very generous sample of Epidermx, Camellia oil and Janson Becket's Alpha Derma CE (this last one completely unexpected). |

Anything can basically make you break out! Depends on your skin...personally I can't use anything oily or creamy...even if it's labeled oil-controling or normalising
I prefer serums like the Alphaderma line and Bioelements quick refiner |

My skin is generally normal and Epidermx made it oily
I don't know, maybe it's too harsh for my skin at the moment. I had a series of glycolic peels this summer so I'll just "let it live" for awhile
Melissa,
yeah, they're not typical pimples, not like I ever had them. But more like irritated bumps (some of them have white tips). Today it seems like most of them are gone.
It's been 2 nights since I used it, so hopefully they will ALL be gone soon. |

Luckily I didn't have any bad reaction. I had almost 10 zits when I got started on Epidermx and they all went down a couple of days after the treatment. I had another one forming underneath my skin and it never emerged. I'm normally oily but I didn't feel it made my skin more so, even after putting on the Silkia oil, which leaves my skin looking healthy and glowy.
I used L'Oreal before and had a small breakout. It was gone after 3 weeks. But it was lame and felt like sand compared to Epidermx. |

Pumaka, I had the same reaction as you!
I was so happy to use my samples of camellia oil and epidermx, so at night I did the scrub (it left my skin feeling very greasy afterwards) then I applied a very light amount of oil in my tzone.
The next morning my face was the greasiest it has ever been since I switched to natural products almost a year ago!
I then used the camellia oil on its own after nightly cleansing. Same reaction again, very greasy next day. I also get the same problem even if I use epidermx alone with my own night oil.
I threw away the camellia oil after, it was just very..... weird for me. |
