I have been very curious since I joined this forum as to why I had such a bad run in with Jane Iredale makeup...it seems so very popular!
I bought a couple of JI pressed powders a year or so ago...and tried on a few others...it seemed hard to find a match and with both of the ones that I got - it ended up looking like I was wearing a mask when I would put them on. I got professional help with the shade...and I was using the handi brush...so I don't think it was the application...I have not had it with other powders...
What are the advantages/disadvantages to mineral make up? I am wondering if I should try it again...I have been using pout and stila for the last year or so...but I want a change...I am considering LeClerc and Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier...and Armani foundation...now I am wondering about minerals again...
Does anybody have advice? I have oily skin, occasional break outs and I like a matte look with natural coverage...SPF is great too! |

I was exactly the same and have just come to the conclusion that a mineral foundation is not for me.
Both the Jane Iredale and Bare Escentuals did not give much coverage and left me with an unsightly sheen and looking & feeling very oily.
I don't wear foundation every day but when I do I use MAC Studio Fix Powder foundation which is perfect for oily skin. I still use the Handi brush though
Have a look at the Jurlique Silk dust powders, these get wonderful reviews. |
