i've been meaning to ask for ages, does anyone use or has anyone used this line?
i've had a look on MUA and overall the results are NOT positive so i wondered if anyone had any experience of this stuff...

Hi Kiwigirl,
I love SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. I am on my fourth bottle of 215ml
This product supposely contains the most % of pitera in it. I think this product saved my skin before I discover EDS. There are so many great products reviewed by EDS members that I am very tempted to try other new products. So, I am not sure what I am going to do when my Facial Treatment Essence runs out.
I also tried their eye treatment film before and it retain moisture very well but did nothing to my fine lines. Other serums I tried from SK-II tend to be rather oily (too heavy for my skin and caused some breakouts).
I hope this helps a little |

Hi Kiwigirl,
I currently have been using the SKII line and have found some of their products to be good and some not so effective.
I love their Facial Treatment Essence, really makes my skin soft and is gentle enough to use around the eyes.
I also like their Facial Treatment Repair C, it's a serum and goes on lightly and gives the right amount of moisture.
I'm using their UV cream which is good for the daytime and Advanced Signs Treatment cream in the evening.
I use the Facial Treatment Cleanser twice a day and removes all my makeup without drying out my skin.
Since I've been using this line, my skin tone appears to be more even and a reduction in hyperpigmentation gradually due to acne scarring.
This line appears to be effective at making my skin soft and smooth; however, I only see a moderate improvement in fine lines, but they have good moisturizers which do not clog pores.
I've gotten better results by adding in Vivier Kine-C into my daily regime.
I don't like the acne treatment cleansing gel, it's too greasy and I didn't see any improvement when I used the eye film either.
Hope this helps you out.

interesting to hear that some people are getting results from this line. the MUA reviews were scathing to say the least!
their advertising (with cate blanchett) is so appealing but when i was in melbourne last year and had a look at the products in david jones (or myers, can't remember which) i wasn't overly impressed. plus the SA was a total cow and i obviously didn't warrant her time so that put me off as well...
isn't it weird how if the SAs are nice it somehow makes the products seem better...

I tested few SK products recently:
The facial treatment mask is great! I really like this product!
The Eye Treatment Film doesn't seem to do anything!?!?
Overall, I think it's still worth to get few samples to test it yourself and see which one suit your skin! |

hi Kiwigirl
I have been using their Facial Treatment Essence for almost a year and while I can't say it's magical, it is quite nice.
I like the smell (some people hate it but I have NO idea why, it's lovely!) and it feels like and refreshing. When I first started using it I remember I really felt a difference in the softness of my skin but I guess now it's just normal. I do have to say I'm a bit of a sucker though.. My instruction leaflet said it should be used once a week or something (maybe I was reading it wrong though) but I have been using it every night after toner since I started. The other day I saw an ad in a magazine with Cate Blanchet and it say she uses it morning and night and what good it does her etc so now I'm starting to use it morning and night. Sucker!! Anyway, I will see how it works with makeup during the day but I can imagine it being fine.
The thing I like about it is that its lightweight and also it's meant to repair sun damage. We can't buy it here in NZ but if you decide on it, you could trywww.sasa.com as it's quite cheap there.
As for their other products, I tried a couple of samples but wasn't overly impressed with anything. I think the essence is their staple product though and they built the rest of the line around it.
Hope that helps |

Hello KT,
Are you sure the Essence is only suppose to be used once a week? I thought it can be used everyday after cleaning (said so on the box I get it). I used it for two years everyday morning and night. |

Hi Wild Cat,
I just pulled out the box and info leaflet to see what it is that I was talking about (yes, I am one of those anal people that keep all packaging.. ). So, I read the instructions under Facial Treatment Essence and it says "Apply after cleansing in day & night." I couldn't figure out where I got the once-a-week thing until I saw this weird little chart on the other side of the leaflet and it has 2 columns; Daily and Weekly. Essence is inder the Weekly column! But then I looked again and it is also under the Daily column.
Maybe it depends on what other products you are using it with? The chart like a step-by-step guide but most of it is Japanese so I don't know what it says.
Anyway, day & night it is! I don't have to feel like such a sucker now for having started to use it twice a day since reading the Cate Blanchet ad
Thanks for encouraging me to check up on that. |

Hello KT,
I also use SK-II's facial treatment mask (love it but its really pricy) and the main ingredent of the mask is Pitera. It claims that the mask can deliver 10 times amount of Pitera to the skin (I guess compares to just using the facial treatment essence). Since the mask is definately overpriced, I know people who buy paper masks themselves and soak it in the facial treatment essence and use it as their homemade mask. I am not sure how effective that is compare to the mask SK-II sells. I love SK-II's mask ver much and I only use it on super special occasions
Edited to say that maybe this is why the essence can be used both daily and weekly? |

Yeah I saw the masks and they look so cool but they are SOOOO pricey! Buying the paper mask and doing it yourself seems like a good idea but I can't really imagine in my head how it would work without being messy and spilling the essence etc. And anyway, no idea where to get the paper masks here in NZ
Kiwigirl, I think it sounds like an excellent excuse for a little trip |

You can get paper masks on eBay from some well established asian sellers. I've bought them before and have been happy with them. The paper masks come in a compressed "pill" so you can drop this into the cap of the bottle, squeeze some of the treatment essence into the cap and let it absorb into the paper mask. The "pill" then expands and you pull it out of the cap, unroll it, and place it on your face. I've done this and haven't had problems with any spillage etc. HTH
ps. The guy that I buy my paper masks from had the eBay userd ID of "terryyuen72". Very quick, haven't had any problems at all. |

Actually, that does sound non-messy and very cool! I will give it a go |

The facial treatment mask is definitely worth it! It is kind of special pampering home treatment for me! |
