I have and love my Bare Escentuals powder brushes but I'm wondering about the JI Handi brush. My mum is o/s and feeling generous at the moment so I'm deciding if I should ask her to get me the Handi Smile

Is it worth it? I have a few other JI brushes and they're very good but I'm wondering if anybody here has a preference between the Bare Minerals powder brushes and the JI Handi?

Ta Smile

Mabsy, Funny you posted this cuz I was thinking of getting the BE Powder Brush to see how it works. The JI Handi is all I've used for years. Let's see.... the base of the bristles are absolutely flat. Seems like it picks up a lot of powder but can be tapped off easily. Not very messy at all. Seems that the flat base tends to keep the powder from flying around. Very easy to buff with. However, I use the JI Pressed Powders and it works wonderfully with those, but don't know about the loose. Unfortunatley, I don't have anything to compare it to. Alexis

The BE brush is tapered and picks up powder very well. It's also very soft but the thing that made me consider the JI Handi is that I remember reading someone's post on the net that said that the Handi is way softer than the BE brush Surprised I don't see how that could be because to me the BE is super soft already.

I use mine with loose mineral foundations or just with normal loose powder. It sound like a flat base would be better for pressed stuff but I think I might try it anyway. The fact that you've been using it for years must mean something! Besides, I don't have a brush with a flat base of bristles.... yet.... Smile

If ya got the money....go for it! I may do the same (try BE) since I'll be trying the Botany line of loose minerals whenever they get here.

About the softness, I dunno. The Handi is soft but the bristles are short and very, very compact so it doesn't feel like you're smooshing the bristles on your face to get the powder buffed on. Do you know what I mean?

We'll have to compare after our orders! Alexis
