Okay ... I need some opinions.
I think I have decided on getting the Jane Iredale Gold Dust with my gift certificate. I'm leaning towards the Bronze colour because I think I would be able to use this as both an eye shadow and a "bronzer" or blush-type accent.
The Gold colour, however, is another versatile choice. It, however, would be too light, I think for an eye shadow ... although it could be used as a brow enhancer and it could also be used on my shoulders and arms etc.
However, I live in the country ... and raise dogs ... so our version of dressing up [most of the time] is putting on our "good" jeans and heading for someone's barn for a get-together ... so it doesn't seem to me that I would have much of a chance to actually "dust" my shoulders, arms etc.
I have very dark hair with red streaks ... so I think I could use the Bronze colour even in my hair to give it sparkle for some "special occasion".
For the times that I would use the product, I would think that the Bronze would work out better for me.
Any helpful opinions for me?
I realize that this is a luxury item ... but it occurred to me that a luxury is exactly the sort of thing that should be acquired with this sort of gift certificate. It's my chance to purchase something I wouldn't ordinarily purchase for myself.
I'd appreciate any and all opinions. I haven't even seriously considered the Silver colour ... but would appreciate opinions on it as well. I'm looking for the most versatile colour that doesn't require a "formal" dressy event for its use.
Thanks

I have the 24 carat gold mine and to be honest I wouldn't waste your money.
For a start all the shimmers are very very subtle in normal daylight, then if you go into the supermarket with that type of lighting you look like a glitterbug gone wrong.
In the hair it does not show up at all.
Personally I think it is overpriced for what it is, on the face the revlon skinlights look better, on the eyes you can get a similar or better effect with any shimmer eye shadow and MAC pigments are far superior for intensity.
In the hair any cheap glitter spray would be better.
Oh and if you have oily skin like me this is a big No no.
Sorry if I seem full of negatives, I wanted this set for such a long time and had very high hopes, it was just such a let down and now sits at the back of my drawer.
The only good one is the rose one that can be mixed with lipstick.
I'd say the bonze is better than the gold as an eye shadow but you will need eye shadow base on before and a good primer as this does not have a tendency to remain on the eyelid. |

Hi Rosebud,
I really appreciate your relating your experience with this product! Thanks!
I had looked and looked ... and it seemed like the perfect thing ... but I don't want to be disappointed with it!
I'll keep looking!

I don't want to put you off, it does get very mixed reviews and really does depend on what finnish you are after. |
