If you were to apply both of these actives on the same night, which would you apply first spaced 30+ minutes apart?
If applying both in one evening, DianaYvonne.com recommends the glycolic first; PlatinumSkincare.com suggests the copper peptides first. |

Hi SugarFreeSheila,
Now, I don't use copper peptides ... yet ... but given that two reputable places give two completely opposite answers to that question ... it would indicate to me that it doesn't matter what order you apply them. It probably matters more that you leave that 30 minutes between applications.
Based on that ... I'd say that the choice is yours. I could be wrong, of course.
Just my two cents. |

I use copper peptides after glycolic peels to
be healing (also use PSF O2 serum). I do neutralize first with ethanol. |

Thank you for responding. I've done some more research, and the general consensus seems to be to apply the glycolic first.
Also, I don't think I've come across anyone who applies both of these two topicals on the same night. The only active I can bother with in the morning before sunscreen is Ferulic every third day - no bother given the infrequency.
Thanks again! |

I think it would also depend on what glycolic you are using. If it were a cream, then I would do the copper serum first (assuming you are using serum) but if the glycolic were a non-emollient base I would do it first. |

I agree with Dianne about the cream vs. serum Glycolic formulation. The glycolic, as long as it was not occlusive, could actually help penetration of the copper peptides in to your dermis. |

Well actuallty, glycolic acid is not a penetration enhancer, but it will help with absorbtion in that it will help to disrupt the stratum corneum enough to lead to deeper absorbption of the CP soultion, but any exfoliating agent wil do that. You should choose one that best suits your skin type & tolerance level - be it glycolic, or lactic or a BHA. |

My glycolic acid is a 10% serum-type lotion that I have pH strip-tested myself as having a pH of under 2.
I incorporated the copper peptides last night a while after initially applying the glycolic acid. A few months down the road will hopefully reveal a general improvement! |
