I am thinking about getting laser hair removal for the bikini area.
Horror stories, warnings, blessings to share? |

I have never heard any horror stories to do with lazer hair removal. Go for it, if I had the extra pennies then I'd have all the hair 'down there'removed. Let us know how you go on |

I considered it but heard a few stories about skin irritation and pigmentation (brown marks). That and the cost means that I'm waxing when I get home from work today |

Hey Rosebud - like you, I'm tempted to remove "more" than "less."
Hey Mabsy - I would risk the skin irritation, but what do you mean by "brown marks." Not to be too graphic... but in these areas, only few would see them... |

I don't know to be honest - I didn't see it I was just told about it. Increased sensitivity and brown marks on the skin - the marks are supposed to fade but my friend had them for months and I don't know if they finally faded or not... |

the only horror is that the sensitivity of your skin in the bikiniarea makes it painful! I found it very bad...And I have a pretty high thresh-hold for that kind of pain (hair removal pain). The good news is the pain doesn't go on and on, it's like waxing - just much more painful.
I did not notice any change in skin colour... But your friend, Mabsy, might have got burnt?? |

I get a few brown spots here and there. I believe it's the darker pigment in your skin getting zapped and then sort of burning, but not bad. The spots usually last about a week and then peel off. I've actually found that bedcause of this many of my freckles have faded quite a bit.
And yes it is terribly painful. I had my lower legs done about 3 times and each time I strained my back because I was clenching so hard. Don't even get me started on the bikini area.
All in all if you can stand the pain, go for it. I've had great results in most areas but plan to try the newer laser that does all hair colors soon to get areas like my upper lip. |
