Hi everyone. Just a short question: should I leave my face damp befor the application of mask or I should dry it up? Thanks!

I generally dry my face first, if it is too wet it affects the consistency of creamy masks. If it's a clay mask I wouldn't bother.

I prefer to apply masks to dry skin and then if necesary spritz some water over the top so it doesn't dry my skin out too much.

It depends on what mask you have. I know one of Jurlique's mask is suppose to apply on wet face.

I have some questions about masking too. Im using Dermalogica MPRM right now and was wondering how much should I actually put on? Like are you suppose to be able to see your skin through the mask? Or are you suppose to put enough to completely cover your skin so you can't see your skin at all anymore. Secondly, it's normal to get like a little of the tight/dry feeling when you mask right?

I love the MVPRM! But there are actually two ways it can be used: as a true mask, where you apply a thick layer (enough so that your skin actually begins to look orange like an oompa lompa!) and leave it on the specified amount of time before rinsing it off. The other way is to apply a very thin layer of the MVPRM in lieu of a traditional moisturizer and leave it on overnight. This is what I do if I’ve irritated my skin by using a mask/scrub/peel that was too harsh and upset my face.

This is the normal reaction to most masks such as clay or an enzyme-based mask, but your skin should NOT feel dry and tight after using the MVPRM! Instead, your skin should feel soft, refreshed and hydrated.

HTH,
Carrie
