I went for a holiday to Indonesia for 3 weeks and used OCM while I was there and my skin was a mess!! I was breaking out everywhere.

I wonder if OCM and hot humid climate dont go together??

Hi Svunt1,

I don't know that OCM itself would create the problem ... but rather the changes resulting from being in the tropical setting might have been to blame ... and thus the approach to OCM.

Going from an area like where I live [where it's cold and house heat is on making the atmospheric conditions very harsh ... dry indoors ... cold outside] to a hot, tropical area where it's humid is going to play havoc with your skin.

Then there are the changes in water ... not drinking but washing. Also the food you were eating was also probably quite different than what you eat usually at home. There was the flight to and from Indonesia ... and the air in planes is notorious for being dry and "recycled"!

If you have "reactive" skin ... which is how I like to think of my own ... then it's going to react to just about any change negatively.

It could be that the OCM requirements of your skin changed for the length of the trip. Let's say that at home, where it's cold out and dry inside, your mixture might have been 60% EVOO to 40% CO ... but in the tropics you might have needed a higher percentage of CO.

There are so many factors that affect your skin that I'd be hard pressed to see how OCM itself could be the root of the problems.

The beauty of OCM is that you can tailor it to whatever your own skin needs. However, even if you had adjusted your OCM mixture properly, the realities of the trip still might have caused skin problems.

I began my own OCM in August ... which this year was very hot but probably not really comparable to a "tropical" climate. However, my OCM mixture was different from what my skin needs now that it's cold outside and drier inside.

The sad truth is that some of us have skin that seems to announce to the world whenever a change happens ... whenever stress becomes high ... whenever I'm not feeling 100% ... whenever my cleansing routine changes ... whenever anything in my life is "different". Crying or Very sad I don't think it matters what I do ... my skin is going to reflect the changes and circumstances of my life! Laughing

Mary

I live in Malaysia - exactly the same climate as Indonesia - and OCM works beautifully for me.

I second everything Mary said. Smile

I live in humid Miami Beach, and I cannot use just oils to cleanse my skin. I have found that using pure almond butter with some tea tree oil works wonders though! The almond butter has oils but also the almond meal that pulls out impuritys and if left on the skin as a mask, actually tightens the pores!

Very Happy
