Hi! That was quite interesting reading ( I followed on and read about Matryxil as well which has been in things I have used)....one point about Argireline that I had never considered was whether there would ever be a detrimental effect on sagging prone skin because of the "relaxing" action. Hmmm! So often ladies worried about wrinkles are also going to be at the age of skin losing it's firmness too. Will be interesting to see how it plays out long term anyway! |

I've been using Relax-A-Line for more than a year and now use the Relax Vialox as well. The Relaxaline has the argeriline in it (acetyl hexapeptide)and it definitely works. Not just wishful thinking. Is it botox? No. But it does relax the surface muscles so my crows feet look flatter, etc. The Relax Vialox uses a curare-like peptide that is stronger than the argeriline. I use that on my frown lines between my eyebrows. It works very well, too. If you google acetyl hexapeptide you'll see lots of products that use it now. Besides the Cellular Skin Rx products I just mentioned, the AlphaDerma line uses that ingredient, too. Both are sold here on EDS. |

Okay ... I've read the articles ... and the bulletin board stuff is really "scare mongering" at its best!
I've been using AlphaDerma's DermaExcell7 for several months ... you do NOT put it all over your face ... you target stubborn lines.
Does it work? Yes. What happens when you stop using it? Well ... predictably the lines return. Do they return more pronounced than before? Nope.
About this woman who claims that she is 31 and now looks 51? She's a flake ... and probably the "testimony" isn't even real. If it were real, she'd have identified the product she used. Those who agree with her? The same applies. These are NOT verifiable statements!
I'm 54 ... and my face isn't sagging ... and while I have lines and some wrinkles which are improved when I use DermaExcell7, they are not worse when I don't use it for a while.
Don't be fooled by rash statements made without documentary proof ... and certainly when no product is mentioned.
At best ... they are urban legends ... posted to do nothing more than scare people.
As for the original article, at most it said that it may or may not work ... and it did say that whether or not it contributed to "sagging" wasn't determined by tests.
What does that mean? Well ... buyer beware of course ... and if in any doubt, don't use it.
However, based on my experience, it neither affects a permanent relaxation of the muscles ... nor does it contribute to sagging.

I agree 100% with hpjrt. While I would not use a concentrate of more then 10% Argireline on my face nor a product that did not contain other ingredients that compliment the firming qualities...Argireline I have found to be totally safe in the 1 1/2 years I have been using it. I am a mature woman and I have noted that AlphaDerma made great improvement in the firmness of my skin. I stopped using it over the past few months as I have been struggling with some health issues and let my beauty routine go. I have noticed that after I stop using the product my skin is going back to it's saggy look. If you get your products from an established company I don't think you have a thing to worry about. Again, I would not use more than 10% Argireline on my face. Some companies are offering 20%. We think more is better. However clincal studies have show that all you need is 10%. Do not get Argireline with just a base cream. Make sure that it contain other key ingredients that are good/norishing for your skin. A few other companies that I would trust are: Cellular Skin RX and Pure Skin formulations. |

Add my voice to Winnie's and hpjrt's! The women on some of these boards don't need help with their skin - they need shrinks!

WOW is right. Don't know ladies. It still didn't answer the question. I don't believe this is the end all of skin care. But rather antioxidants at the moment are the way to go. However, this is only my opinion and this is what I'll be using (after I finish everything else). |

Well, I want a product I can put all over my face. How am I supposed to address the sagging by only putting AD on the lines. |

After reading all the posts on anti-aging products on this forum, I bought the Janson-Becketts AlphaDerma CE Anti-Aging System. The whole system was on sale for $199, plus with code SPC123 I got 10% off. My understanding is that you use the Alpha-Derma all over your face, but only put the DermaExcel 7 on your wrinkes.
I've been only using it since Friday...and can't really tell a difference...but its only been 4 days so I'm still hoping. I get Botox injections regularly, but am hoping this will soften lines not quite ready for the injections. |

Hi Ashley,
The DermaExcel 7 isn't an "all over" application ... nor is it for "sagging". It's for stubborn lines/wrinkles.
You would want another product entirely ... one that addresses "firming".
DermaExcel 7 doesn't "firm" ... it "relaxes" ... specifically it relaxes the muscles around lines/wrinkles.
DMAE addresses "firming" I believe ... and I suspect there are other products that also address firming specifically.
It's not a problem I have, fortunately, so I'm not the best person to answer this one!
Good luck,
Mary |
