I take only 1 multivitamin every day cuz I eat at least 2 items out of all the food groups daily. I have not noted any change other than the color of my urine.

Calcium 1500mg
Coromega fish oil 1 pkt

The C and MSM make my hair & nails grow like crazy, and make my skin firm.

For the past 4 weeks I've been taking MSM only and I can see the difference in my hair - very minimal shedding.

I think MSM is making a big difference too. I heard from several sites that taking it with Vit C enhances it.
FlexEffect and NCNProSkinCare recommend it highly for firming the skin. This is one of the best things I've learned here on EDS.
My nails are so hard I have to cut them with a clipper now B4 I file them every couple days. And I have to trim my bangs every 2 wks to avoid the Shitzu look! Did I spell that right?

Calcium
B-complex
Anti-oxidant drinkable mix containing grape seed extract, red wine extract, pine bark extract and Bilberry extract.

Septembergirl....I just ordered biosil. It's supposed to be a superior form of Silica that the body supposedly absorbs easier than other forms of Silica. So, I'm just wondering how you like the Biosil and whether or not you can attribute any positive changes due to taking it?? Thank you.

mpstat, what does secretagogue do for you? Never heard of it before [in fact, I thought maybe you were joking--such a funny name], but found it online. Do tell!

~Green food of some sort
~4000 mg powdered MSM
~Vitamin C and ascorbyl palmitate
~Krill oil
~Alpha-lipoic-acid
~Calcium
~Vitamin D
~A silica product (used to take Biosil - now take Cellfood essential silica - mix with MSM and glutamine
~Lcarnitine
~Larginine
~Glutamine = when I work out
~folic acid
~ToCoQ10
~Biotin
~Hyaluronic acid

I hate to say it but I'm probably missing a few and I'm trying to cut back to a strong multi to hit some of these areas.

I love my supplements!

Secretagogue is a pre-made stack of nootropics/vitamins. I used to take my own stack of nootropics and eventually came to getting Secratagogue Gold. It is HGH Releaser (not HGH itself), e.g. helps to release your body's own HGH.

I take about 16 different vitamins and supplements, but the only two that I can actually tell makes a big difference, is the MSM, Glucosamine, and Vit C. ((I have not had a cold for more than 15 yrs, which I attribute to the Vit C I have taken religiously.))

Sis, what's the advantage of taking ascorbyl PALMITATE rather than other forms of vit. C? Thanks.....

I take a multi-vitamin, probiotics, digestive enzymes, and DIM for acne.

I was taking a megadose of MSM, inositol, and L-cysteine, but I noticed my skin started breaking out pretty severely so I stopped, and since then my skin has cleared. I was taking jarrow biosil earlier this year which was pretty wonderful stuff, but they have since discontinued the product = (.

ascorbyl palmitate is absorbed differently than a standard water-soluble vitamin C - It is fat soluble and is not excreted as readily. It can be stored in cell membranes until it is required by the body.
The absorption of water soluble vitamin C is quite quick, its penetration in cells is limited. This makes the ascorbyl palmitate a desirable addition to me as it's effects are available for a longer time.

Thank you Sis for your helpful reply. I wonder whether it would also require a lower daily dose, since it is not excreted so readily? Where did you get yours? Vitacost?

What do you use to figure out how much to take? 500mg of ascorbyl palmitate is equivalent to about 200+mg of vit. C. Do you use the 500mg or 200mg as the dose? In what ratio with MSM?

Thanks again....

Hi,leeleedeedee.
I started taking Biosil three weeks ago, so unfortunately I cannot comment on any results yet. There is a convincing clinical study on the effects of Biosil on skin and hair, and that's why I wanted to use it. I can tell that my skin, hair, nails and eyelashes (!) look better from all the supplements I take (I forgot to mention acai berry extract and beta glucans 1.3/1.6 on my list), and I strongly believe in Biosil as a collagen generator.
