I've had several of the Micropeel Plus *more than six* however mine were done at the office. No problems at all. You do look a little odd when the peeling starts but isn't that the point?

Ok - let's imagine, your aunt sally wants to sell glycolic acid to make money off the skin peel phenomenon. She consults a chemist ONE TIME and has a recipe and buys product from the science supply store, bottles it by concentration according to the recipe and posts some safety precautions and says she's not responsible for the burns that will result!

This was my experience with WizOZKansas on ebay who is selling glycolic and lactic acid. No real knowledge of chemistry, stated she hired a chemist and can't answer any questions on adjusting the ph or what ph the buffer adjusts her solutions to when using them, as it would require her to rehire another chemist and she doesn't have the money.

Let's face it, websites like Diana Yvonne, are much safer, and more reputable. I used her Lactic 40% and 70% with no problems.

This Ebay GA 40% purchase was horrific. I have chemical burns on my face.

I agree with the original poster - with a caveat. NEVER buy acid/peels, etc from EBAY!
For all I know, she used some lab quality ga powder in her solution, worse, it could be floor cleaner.

Start with the lowest, and only buy from people that send you samples of their product so you can spot test and see what the reaction is like.

I think its important to know who the reputable sellers are of these acid products and just stick with that.

My face -- is still burning, 18 hours later...

Asian skin unfortunately, is the most sensitive, oiliest, and most prone to hyperpigmentation out there.

I went to Dermatalogist today.

He said i did too much to my Face, too much as Home peel. Said Its not safe to use any Chemcial Peel at Home. My face should be Okay in another week. Skin started peeling off just now. He gave me bunch of medicine to keep me safe from Infections.

Also said there is No Long Run damage, Thank god, But dont know if there will be any Cosmotic damage.

I say its not worth. I did search on Chemical peel on this Forum before i applied. Didnt find any posts. Please take me as role, and DO NOT experiment at Home.

I bought this on Ebay, and there are lot of sellers on Ebay for TCA Peels (Gosh selling 100%). Those are not worth to use and Dangarous.

i believe that they are safe to do at home, its not the PRODUCTS but the PERSON USING THEM ,that is either safe or not safe!!!
i purchase my glycolic medical grae acid from ebay! its called adsm beverly hills, and my skin has been beautiful!
no complaints about their products...!

when ever i read about people having bad reactions and burns to things, it is usually because they slap things on with little research and leave them on for way too long or something~!~

i'm not blaming you, just saying....

for example, i was STUPID when i was doing my 3rd 40 % glycolic peel...
i had a breakout that week, which i would not normally have, and instead of leaving it alone, i stupidly dabbed a little 40% glycolic on as a spot treatment for a minute or so, mid week btwn peels...all was fine until i did my next weekly peel, and the areas i spot treated went white and the skin came off when i touched it! it hurt like hell, and i looked like i had a crusty browen scabby moustache and beard for two weeks, with redness that has finally faded, BUT IT WAS ENTIRELY MY OWN STUPID FAULT , and i accept that...
now i have absolute respect for the products , and will not make up my own rules next time!

when i go up level with the glycolic, instead of my usual 3 mins, i will be safe and do one minute only, even if i feel i can do longer, as it is safer to be conservative in the long run!
if its fine i will gradually increase the length, as i am not going around looking and feeling like that again, and having to make up bogus stories about having reaction to a skin care product ,so i don't look like a fool! (i hate lying, but sometimes its necessary to avoid scorn lol!!!)

i have already had 2 basal cell carcinoms on my back at a young age, despite not sunbaking, and i will be damned if i get any thing on my face in the future...
i was told to use a glycolic cream by the skin cancer doctor that ocst a fortune, so i asked him if doing these peels myself would be a good idea, and he said definately, it would reduce the number of skin cancers (basal cell and squamous) over my life time by a good enough percentage to be worth doing it...peels, laser ,photodynamic therapy etc, are all good for reducing the sundamaged cells...

doctors and skin therapists make an absolute KILLING from doing these peels...
i would be charged around $100 a week for mine, yet i have had months of peel from a £20 bottle!

all you need to do is research the science and KNOW how the products work and how to use them, and be conservative, and the benefits exceed the risks imo!!!

I think you can use peels at home.
I've done many peels that are up to 25% with no problems ever.
But I only get things from authorized stores and not ebay.
Also I only get peels that are pre-measured.
and have used some glycolic lotions before with lower numbers and only leave a peel on 3 minutes for me.

I just bought the Exuviance 25% peel from EDS and haven't used it lately, but have used the product 4 or 5 times before and it works great.
It is made by Neostrata and they are very reputable, make a lot of products doctors use too (like fillers, other things).

I also like how the Exuviance peel is already measured, I packet is the peel you wipe on your face, the other packet is the neutralizing solution.

My skin has never really "peeled" from that, but looks much smoother.

-Right now i'm using Peter Thomas Roth unwrinkle peel pads and they work ok- you are supposed to be able to use them every day.
I have a "sample" of them with 20 pads, so using that up before I use anything else.

I think if you buy a peel that is brand name and pre-packaged usually those are safe to use at home.

I have also used the Kinerase peel and that was good, but the applicator sucked and the company that I got that from they told me the applicator was being reformulated as there was so many complaints about it.
I'm just waiting for that product to come out again as the formula was great...sucky packaging.

** just wanted to add I have very sensitive skin and can't even use acid products every day on my skin.
I have also had a professional 20% peel done at a doctors and could not even leave that on 2 minutes and that was with a fan blowing on my face...
so for me to pay $80 to leave a peel on for 2 minutes is a bit much!
